Past Ukrainian prosecutor Shokin disclosed to Giuliani in an interview in January that he had been told to back off the investigation of Bursima, and that it was because of a threat from Biden to block aid.
The notes were turned over to the State Dept Inspector General but they were not followed up, for reasons not known.
So, President Trump did indeed have probable cause to ask the Ukraine to reopen the investigation.
One of Trump’s closest friends says Trump is having a “nervous breakdown”. He also wants to know why none of the 53 GOP senators has been asked for an answer about what Trump is doing. (I think some have been asked, but they all do their best cricket imitation when answering).
He makes a valid point about James Madison rolling over in his grave. He seems to be saying “Why aren’t you all doing your job?” For those who have asked that of the Dem led House, I say, they are doing their job. It’s too bad they feel compelled to have to do what is being done to protect the Constitutional balance of power. Which IS part of their job.
I’ve never liked Mooch too much, but I respect the fact he is not afraid to speak out negatively about his friend.
This is a good example of how Trump pollutes our political system with outright LIES. In this case, the LIE is that the “deep state” changed whistle blower rules to suddenly allow people without first hand knowledge to blow the whistle. Sorry, Mr. Trump – BUZZZ! False.
The Intelligence Community IG had to go on record to refute this LIE. Of course, Trump does not care and will continue to repeat ANY LIE at every opportunity. Dummies will believe him because they really, really want to.
It is worth noting that this particular LIE was generated on The Federalist web site – a site frequently relied on and linked to by those here who are DESPERATE to exonerate Trump’s criminal behavior.

Most of the folks on this blog are over 50 and male. I see this story as an ominous sign that we should stay out of the water, particularly off the OBX. Or we need to find younger folks to join us.

I get the sense that many anti-Trumpers are unaware of some of the backstory on Ukraine as it relates to the 2016 election. The link was much discussed in some circles when it came out almost two years ago, but it never got a lot of mainstream press attention. The second graph is the money quote:
