How Artificial Intelligence Brings the End of the World

This vast multi-faceted subject will bewilder almost everyone for years to come.

We know this because Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, billionaire brainiacs, disagree diametrically.  So how can the rest of us find solid ground? 

Musk casually asserts, “A.I. is a fundamental threat to the existence of human civilization.”  Zuckerberg answers with some petulance, “A.I. is going to make our lives better. … Doomsday scenarios are pretty irresponsible.”

People have been lecturing about climate change for many years, claiming this or that will happen in 25 years, 50 years, or 100 years.  What is proven?  A.I. is going to happen faster, and we will see it happen.  Musk urges major countries to restrict research on A.I. before it’s too late.  Not likely.  If you want something to keep you up at night, A.I. may be the thinking person’s choice.

All the hardware is moving faster, according to  Moore’s Law.  But that isn’t where the action is.  Algorithms are the rules or instructions that tell machines what to do.  Math geniuses are cleverly devising more ingenious algorithms.  They used to give the rules of a game to the machine.  No more.  Now they tell the computer to study a thousand great games and figure out what it should do to win its next game.  Surprising things happen.  Moves scorned by experts turn out to be genius!

British Ministry of Defense (MOD) Daily Updates on Ukraine

I’m not sure how Twitter links will work in Word Press, but I thought this was interesting enough to try and pass it along. The updates are usually brief and proven to be accurate. I have found them to be a good way to stay current on the situation in Ukraine, if such topics interest you.

The National Right to Life (or more accurately Anti-Choice Coalition) says that the 10 year old CHILD, a victim of rape, should have been FORCED to carry the pregnancy to term.

““She would have had the baby, and as many women who have had babies as a result of rape, we would hope that she would understand the reason and ultimately the benefit of having the child,” Bopp said in a phone interview on Thursday.”

A 10 year old CHILD is NOT a woman. What benefit would there be to her? She’s he age where children should be playing with baby DOLLS, not responsible for the life of a child.

The morality of this MAN’S opinion and the law he has authored for other states to enact, is not moral at all.

Interesting shift in polls for midterms.

What seemed like a slam dunk for Republicans has now morphed into a much tighter race. Of course all this could change by November. Other polls show Democrats want younger blood in 2024, particularly the under 30 voters. Abortion and shootings are rising to the top of issues for many. Still, Republicans have a large advantage in the Gerrymandering contests.

Twitter sues Musk to close deal

So, Twitter provides false information about the number of fake accounts included in its client list. Musk objects and seeks transparency on the issue, or a reduced price, before completing the deal. Twitter provides more false information. Musk voids deal. Twitter sues to force him to close the deal, but now will have to provide Musk the information he wanted in court, where a settlement will result in a lower price.

What we have here is a bunch of millennials who think they are smart engaging in a battle of wits with someone who actually is smart.
