Yesterday’s hearing was a relatively sober presentation of 2020 election issues as — I imagine — most Americans understand them. I imagine most Americans view the election as flawed in concerning ways that require attention, but not as an immediate crisis that needs to be resolved by reversing the outcome.

Trump using GA runoff to fill his coffers with more donations.

Republicans not happy with Trump siphoning off the small donor money from Loeffler and Perdue campaigns. I suppose it is payback since GA Republicans didn’t deliver for him. I say go for it. A couple of Senate Democrats from GA will teach ‘em not to mess with the president.

Now that the dust has settled, Trump lost in the suburbs, gained in some urban districts.

Corrupt Presidential Children

“Conservative” hearts are all aflutter since it has been announced that Hunter Biden’s tax affairs are being investigated by the Barr DOJ. Maybe he has done something wrong. Who knows? He did issue a press release asserting that his tax affairs are regular and professionally done. We will see.

More to the point, these poor myopic Trumpkins can see the mote in the eye of Hunter Biden but not the beam in the eyes of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. This piece provides some perspective.

Simply put, Republicans don’t want elections.

When a candidate loses in a Democratic stronghold 80-20, it is time to concede. But not to Republicans inspired by El presidente. And the reality is that no matter what election reforms are instituted, they will never be enough.

What is to be Done? The Rise of Hygiene Socialism and the Prospects for Liberty

I like this piece for its invention of the term hygiene socialism, which seems useful to me. The writer notes that the concept is not new. Herbert Spencer described the same threat to liberty using similar language in 1851. The new phrase, however, is instantly meaningful to today’s libertarians and conservatives.
