CNN Fauci on ending trials early

If the early results are anything close to promising(and based on phase 2, they very likely will be) then the vaccines should be distributed ASAP.  Let the high risk population as a whole volunteer in place of phase 3. The vaccine would have to be very risky to be more risky than months of added delay. Risk of action must always be weighed against the risk of inaction.

I’ve read elsewhere that Joe Biden is planning to give a speech in Wisconsin in which the candidate will criticize President Trump’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Joondeph’s comments are thus timely.

It used to be asked, albeit with incredulity, how far political correctness might go in America; shall it be required at last to demolish the Jefferson Memorial or the Washington Monument because their namesakes once owned slaves?

It is not like we need more goading for the racial problems we have…unless you are a president who thinks it will help his re-election. Oh, I forgot, Trump is not a racist. He just plays one on TV.

I expect we’ll hear that young Rittenhouse is a racist, at least structurally so since a) he is white, b) he was armed, and c) he was guarding a capitalist petro-chemical facility. Or, if none of that, then the Kenosha protests that night were “largely peaceful” until white supremacists from out of town infiltrated them, inciting arson, looting and teeth-gnashing among the godly idealists.

This video is causing much discussion on various web sites I visit. It is the very best takedown of Critical Race Theory imaginable, although a much briefer statement would make the same point admirably: CRT is stupid.

You gotta love Jersey girls, I guess.

I suppose this story raises First Amendment issues, but I’m not inclined to take them seriously. At most, the free speech interest conflicts with the town’s equally valid governance interests. When such irresolvable conflicts arise it is reasonable for some form of compromise rule to apply, such as the Town’s expectation to be notified prior to the event.

Assuming there’s an ordinance on the books that requires protest organizers to obtain permits, the First Amendment is irrelevant here.
