Mona Charen, a life-long conservative explains her support for Biden. Or better yet, why she is NOT supporting Trump or the GOP this election.

Some days I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Virginia used to be one of the smart states, but increasingly we look like California’s East Coast.

Employment Options, Not Labor Unions, are the Real Source of Bargaining Power for Workers
Source: American Institute for Economic Research.
The indefatigable economist Don Bourdreaux takes on a notion that comes up here in Tidewater Forum quite often: “Do workers in market economies need labor unions to ensure that they are paid fairly – that is, to ensure that they’re paid wages that reflect the market value of what they produce?”

This video has a complex back story, which you can easily Google to explore. I’m sharing it because the story it tells seems plausible to me based on technology and programs I have seen with my own eyes as a proposal writer for DoD contracts in war gaming projects. That is to say, I have seen large-scale collaboration platforms like the ShadowNet application, and know for an experienced fact that such things have been commoditized for private, commercial use.
It is interesting that the Senate released its 1000-page report on Russian attempts to influence the 2016 election the same week this video was published, then banned, on YouTube. Section J of that report essentially — though obliquely — validates the video’s basic message.
More info on the bipartisan Senate Russian investigation
Gee, the Trump campaign was in bed with the Russians. And, the committee found that the Russians have been targeting the GOP for years before the election. With Trump they found the weak link needed to mess with our country. Continue reading “More info on the bipartisan Senate Russian investigation”

The CIA Versus the Kennedys
Source: The Future of Freedom Foundation.
This story intrigues me because of the proposition that the CIA’s charter could be greatly simplified, and that restricting the CIA’s mission to intelligence only was actually considered at one time.
Theoretically, at least, we would all be better served by a CIA that operated under a Star Trek-like “prime directive” of non-interference in shaping world events. One can readily imagine the moral hazard that arises from covert operations, particularly those that seek to bring about regime change in other countries. For example, if the CIA can topple governments of other nations, what’s to stop it from toppling our own?
Renowned European scientist: COVID-19 was engineered in China lab, effective vaccine ‘unlikely’
Allegations that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, was created in a lab popped up almost as soon as the pandemic began. Many have been easy to dismiss, but not this one, as the source explains.
Whether SARS-CoV-2 is natural or man-made may seem to be merely an academic question. The simple fact of the virus’s existence probably matters far more to most of us. Still, as they say, the truth shall set you free.
The possibility that SARS-CoV-2 is man-made appears to be firming up as time goes by. The question bears watching.
We have a president who attacks our own businesses when it suits his petty, imaginary grievances.

Most of our elected officials like our companies. They provide jobs, tax bases and really do try to stay politically neutral because they want customers from all corners. Continue reading “We have a president who attacks our own businesses when it suits his petty, imaginary grievances.”
