The Claremont Institute came up here recently. Here is a piece from them that makes a lot of sense.
Words lose their meaning and truth disappears in pursuit of the progressive agenda.
A place for civil discussion of the events of the day for Tidewater residents without the limitations imposed by media forums.

Generally, the officers testified their deep emotional hurt of being call liars and that hugs and kisses were what the “patriots” were giving out. One did refer to federal code describing a terrorist action and how it fit what happened. We definitely need to keep 1/6 top of mind to counter GOP and Trump gaslighting.
We have been attacked or invaded few times in our history. 1812, Mexican War, Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and 1/6. Only one of those has a concerted effort to squash facts. The rest are memorialized.

“…the liberty secured by the Constitution of the United States to every person within its jurisdiction does not import an absolute right in each person to be, at all times and in all circumstances, wholly freed from restraint.” Real “liberty for all could not exist under the operation of a principle which recognizes the right of each individual person to use his own, whether in respect of his person or his property, regardless of the injury that may be done to others.” Justice Harlan’s decision is still the law of the land.” Jacobson v. Massachusetts (1905)
I did not know it was a long ago decided case (smallpox inoculation) and apparently not overturned or legislated otherwise. Of course the political firestorm may be enough to forestall such action.
When I was growing up there was a theory that Christianity is a made-up religion and its purpose was to subjugate the masses through mind control and grift (e.g., indulgences). The book in this review makes a similar claim about Islam, with one striking difference.
Wobbling moon 18.6 year cycle.
This is bound to get mis-reported so I’ll get ahead of it.
There is an 18.6 year cycle of wobble in the moon’s orbit. In the negative phase, this wobble suppresses the difference between high and low tide, and in the positive phase it enhances highs and lows. We are entering the positive phase.
Essentially, High Schoolers held another “slave trade” online targeting the handful of black students in Traverse, MI. So if there is no systemic racism, who thought this was a good idea and where did it come from? This is not new, other schools around the country have had the same problem.

Accusing Fauci of killing 4 million people is serious and deserves some perspectives in addition to the back and forth j’accuse.
Both Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger have risked their political careers to defend the Constitution and its core principle of the peaceful transfer of power. Exactly the sort of people with integrity needed for the Select Committee on the January 6th attack on Congress. If there is any temptation by the Democrats to hide uncomfortable facts, these two will not stand for it.
New polling that gathered data on vaccination rates by preferred news source may have found the single most significant reason why so many Republicans are risking their lives for no good reason.
Vaccination rates per this poll . . .
All adults 70% (Close to CDC reports)
Fox News Viewers 62%
MSNBC Viewers 83%
Network News Viewers 79%
What makes these findings even worse is that the Fox News audience is significantly older than average and should therefore have the highest and not the lowest vaccination rates.
It has been shown many times before that Fox News viewers end up misinformed on almost every subject so this result is not all that surprising. What the poll cannot answer is which comes first – The Ignorance or the Fox News preference? I think it is the later. Watching Fox News makes people ignorant. Or worse, they “know” things that are simply not true – in this case that vaccines will harm you.
Kimberly Rhodes has medaled for the USA in six straight Olympics including 3 golds, medaling every time she competed over a span of 24 years. No other USA athlete can match that record.
But you haven’t seen her on TV, her record goes largely unreported. What scandal makes her an unmentionable?
Her sport. even sports reporting is biased by political correctness.
