And so it begins . . .

Steve Scalise has tweeted out the top priorities of the new Republican House.

1 – Defund the 87,000 new IRS agents.

2 – Establish a committee on the weaponization of the federal government against citizens.

3 – End SPR oil sales to China.

4 – Hold woke prosecutors accountable.

————————————————–

1 – It is noteworthy that the top of the list is the intent to hamstring the IRS. If successful they will make it easier for wealthy cheats to avoid paying their legally required taxes. And, according to the CBO, will increase deficits by about $100 Billion.

2 – Simply laughable. But when your base is dominated by conspiracy theorist suckers this is what you have to do.

3 – A little racist pandering for good measure. There are not any significant sales of oil from the SPR to China.

4. More racist pandering.

White House COVID Censorship

WSJ White House COVID Censorship

Health care relies on informed consent for its legitimacy. Limiting information corrupts and degrades those choices.

It has become clear that the policy to vaccinate everyone instead of just the vulnerable has been harmful, contributing to the dominance of new variants and a depressed immune response. Considering the death rate for people under 30 from COVID is just 0.0003% there is little benefit to them from vaccination and vaccinating them effectively filters out the older variants and ensures that when the vulnerable do get infected, it will be with a variant that evades the vaccines AND the monoclonal antibody preparations that saved lived early in the pandemic.

But you won’t see that on Twitter or Facebook.  The administration is pushing vaccines for 6 month old kids, which benefits no one.

Why We Shouldn’t Underestimate China’s Petro-Yuan Ambitions

While slow moving, this is the biggest, most important story on Earth at present, in my view.

The U.S. will gradually lose influence and power as the global oil industry de-dollarizes. We are in no position to prevent the transformation that is already underway, so the question is: How will we respond?

Will we seek to harm those nations that choose to conduct international trade in currencies other than ours? Will we learn to operate in markets where dollars don’t count? Will we isolate ourselves from the global system, or double-down on regime change operations, even war?

The only thing I am certain of is that American arrogance is due for a reset. We will need to stop thinking of the rest of the world in simplistic ways — as, for example, a collection of friends and enemies.

A Brief History of the Freedom Caucus

“In 1980, David Koch ran for vice president with the Libertarian Party, an organization created by the real estate lobby to give an air of legitimacy to their efforts to outlaw rent control and end government regulation of their industry.”

Among other things, this article details David Koch’s platform.  And yes, I know the Daily KOS is a very left-leaning publication, but I look forward to hearing arguments as to why any of this is untrue. Please try to read the entire article, painful as it might be.

Do you support “the eventual repeal of all taxation?” Abolishing Social Security? Medicare? Do you support “the complete separation of government and education?” Do you “condemn compulsory education laws?” How about “the repeal of state usury laws?” I know you want to abolish the Department of Energy, but what about the Consumer Safety Commission? The Federal Aviation Administration? The entire government of the United States of America???

In other words, what is your vision for America’s future? Should America even exist? Should there be such a thing as a “middle class?” Or do you see a feudal system wherein a few Trillionairs own all the land and pay mercenaries to keep the peasants in line? (Keep in mind, Trillionairs don’t TAX anything. They TAKE everything.)
