McConnell shows half a spine

McConnell unloads on Trump: ‘Morally responsible’ for provoking mob

For those of you who somehow still say T**** did not incite the crowd on 1/6, maybe you should have paid attention to what Magic Mitch said on the Senate floor after the conclusion of the impeachment trial.

Seems to me the demonized by the right House Managers presented a compelling case PROVING that the former President did what the Article of Impeachment said he did.

Breaking the rules of the Senate by ignoring that they passed the Constitutional argument prior to the beginning of the trial is something that I find disturbing.

A Libertarian Case for Impeachment

Jacob Sullum of REASON Magazine, a LIBERTARIAN website, makes the case against T**** even more damning by calling him out for his lack of action on January 6th.

Hmmmm. Is this another MSM feeding a Democratic fantasy? Or just ANOTHER reason for the spineless members of the GOP caucus in the Senate to convict?

New Rule: America’s Mass Delusion

“It’s fun to laugh at QAnon, but if you accord religious faith the kind of exalted respect we do here in America, you’ve already lost the argument that mass delusion is bad.”

Bill Maher’s take on Q and religion. Made a lot of sense in the grand scheme of things.

While he is a known Atheist, his take on the religious aspects related to QAnon: Spot-on -IMO

And it also appears this season, he is becoming more Libertarian in his thoughts, and less left wing liberal. And he challenges his left leaning guests a lot more than previously.

And last season he did claim to being Q, which I posted previously.

And so it begins

As the former President said, the more people who vote, the less chance there is of ever having a Republican president ever elected again.

So legislatures around the country, particularly those lead by the GOP, and in states where T**** lost, are crafting voter suppression laws. They are referring to them as “integrity” laws. But it was the leader of their party who pushed the false narrative of voter fraud even before the first ballot was cast. Even though the down-ballot Republicans did better than expected.

Stand by, voters. You will have to do a little extra work to ensure your voice is heard. And take note of those pushing these “integrity” initiatives. They are suppression cloaked as integrity. And those who support them need to be voted out of office before they can do real harm. Like changing the laws back to white, property owning males over the age of 21.

This is truly scary stuff

If it is paywalled for you, I apologize. But it is worth the money to sign up for digital access to read and HEAR whaat some of our fellow citizens are saying and thinking.

For those of you who poo-pooed the insurrection as just another protest; this coverage puts the big lie to your thoughts.

Loss of a Legend

https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/535420-baseball-legend-hank-aaron-dies-at-86

I know it is a bit of a diversion from our usual back and forth. But I consider myself well rounded in my past times. Sports, politics, the arts are all important parts of who I am. If anyone thinks this post is irrelevant to the board, I really don’t care.

But Hank Aaron was a sports legend who was more than just a talented athlete. He used his status as a Hall of Famer to do good work in the business community and philanthropically. His receiving the COVID vaccine and feeling great about it is a good message for those in the Black and Brown communities to trust it and not be trepidatious about it.

I recall when he broke Babe Ruth’s HR record. I was 9 and playing little league myself. It was very exciting to watch. I only hit two dingers in my career (3 years).

Farewell, Hammerin’ Hank. And thanks for the memories.
