The headline is the motto of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. There was a report this morning in the WAPO Sunday Weekly insert in the Pilot that discusses the increases in diagnosis in people younger than 50. (I was in that category when I was diagnosed in January of 2007.) As a 16 year survivor of this disease, I would like to share my story in hopes of raising awareness.

Transgenderism to be eradicated!

First of all, there is no such “ideology” as transgenderism. It is a diagnosable disorder that a significant number of people suffer from. “According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, transgenderism refers to the broad spectrum of people who transiently or persistently identify with a gender different from their natal sex (DSM 5, APA, 2013).” (https://tinyurl.com/ydmmftje).

It is not an ideology, but do not try to tell a “conservative.” To then it IS an ideology – a pernicious one out to “groom”, seduce, and transmogrify your children. But don’t worry, MAGA-Republicans have a solution and they used the annual CPAC conference to tell us what it is. Eradication.

We do not normally speak of “eradication” when discussing groups of people, but then most of us are not morons and Nazis.

Jordan Face Plant

Predictably Gym Jordan’s eagerly anticipated Special Committee which is supposed to eclipse the January 6th Committee has started – let’s say – slowly. He has been touting the claim that he has dozens of FBI “whistleblowers” who will be spilling the beans on the political weaponization of the FBI against Trump and other “conservatives.” The first three “whistleblowers” turn out to be conspiracy theory nuts unable to supply actual evidence. And two of them are actually on the payroll of Team Trump.

Try as hard as I might, I could not make this stuff up. As Len might say, pass the popcorn.

Will China Send Weapons to Russia for Use in Ukraine?

Expatriated Russian naval officer Andrei Martyanov thinks they will.

Real General Staffs salivate at the opportunity to try their technology and fighting doctrines on a real battlefield. It is all about those precious war correlates, performance data and its statistical analysis which allow to constantly update tactical and operational manuals, to shape technical requirements, which, in the end, translate into crucial advantages over the enemy.

Martyanov’s point may seem obscure to someone who thinks of modern warfare as a John Wayne movie. Martyanov is referring to the formal discipline of operations research as the foundation of contemporary warfare tactics and strategy.

China might decide for diplomatic reasons not to supply weapons to Russia, but if ever it fears a military confrontation with the U.S. it virtually must conduct operations research by field testing its systems on a battlefield. Ukraine at present is the obvious choice.

After a Post article on the tussles of executing the search warrant on Mar a Lago, evidence seems to be rising that the FBI is more pro-Trump than his personal Javert. The Clinton server fiasco was in response to fear that pro-Trump agents would leak the second announcement anyway.
