Putin partisans angrily reject the voice of reason, but in this discussion, Boris Nadezhdin dared to speak the truth.

Electric Cars Are Bankrupting the Auto Industry
Ford is not the only automaker enduring huge losses on its investment in electric vehicles. Apparently, Tesla is the only EV maker that currently sells its product at a profit, and just barely so.
EVs are inherently expensive today because the technology is still developmental. Some people hope that EV prices will fall as industry standards, economies of scale, better technology and alternative supply chains all evolve. Others note that the raw materials production, infrastructure construction and maintenance and product disposal requirements to support widespread use will make EVs uneconomical for the foreseeable future.
I’m in the latter camp. History shows that there is a solid, if small, market for uneconomical vehicles, and that wherever a market exists innovation will operate. Instead of using government to force EVs into the mainstream, we should just wait.
Biden, again…
It never ends, while the bodies are not even cold yet Biden rushed to the microphones to make jokes about Ice cream.
National Science Teaching Assoc. rejects science.
Breifly, the CO2 Coalition, a climate skeptic organization objects to the NSTA’s stance on teaching climate science in schools. They paid for a booth at the NSTA convention to present their arguments to science TEACHERS, not students.
The NSTA ejected them to avoid having science TEACHERS exposed to a different opinion.
Sadly, it would appear that a science teaching organization has no clue how science works.
Ho Hum.
Just another day, just another school masacre by a maniac with assault weapons.
Nothing we can do.
It is the blood price we must pay to keep us safe from tyranny. Right?
When you are deep into your “thoughts and prayers,” try thinking why it is that we are so exceptional that we need to allow the slaughter of children to keep our country safe. Other countries don’t. Why do we?
Electric vehicles are huge money-losers for Ford
As a rule the laws of physics tend to manifest as economic reality. Electric vehicles violate the laws of physics in a number of ways and for that reason EVs are unlikely to ever become economically viable.
The main physical law that EVs violate is that the batteries used to power cars can never deliver energy for transportation as efficiently as fuel tanks containing refined petroleum can. Engineers can develop workarounds, but the optimal engineering solution for transportation has already been worked out. That optimal solution is built around the use of fossil fuels.
Ford Motor Company’s engineers undoubtedly know all this. Consequently it is a wonder that the company is willing to lose billions of dollars in the fool’s errand of developing an EV product line. Don’t Ford’s executive managers know that every billion dollars they waste on EVs is a billion dollars worth of food that starving children in Africa (or on the streets of San Francisco) will never eat?
How to Understand the Well-Being Gap between Liberals and Conservatives
Every now and then you’ll hear someone say that reality has a liberal bias. The idea is that reality proves the objective truth of liberal ideology. It is a curious fact of life that those who possess this objective truth of liberal ideology are as a group measurably and distinctively prone to mental illness:

In a nutshell, almost all the right-wing “anti-woke” and culture-war policies being pushed in GOP circles are decidedly unpopular outside of the GOP bubble. The only exception is the proposition that transgender women should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports. On that, most people apply common sense.
The focus of the following article is the well-publicized “anti-woke” policies pushed by Governor DeSantis to curry favor with MAGA voters. It is a recurring GOP problem writ large – what it takes to get a Republican nomination is poison for the General election.
DeSantis is currently about 15 points behind the criminal Trump among likely GOP voters, so all of his “anti-woke” pandering is yielding very little but future problems. Sad. 😢
Where were you on 9/11?
That is a question any American who was an adult in 2001 can easily remember. Except for Ron DeSantis. It is not convenient for him to say he was teaching in a pricey private school that morning. So he hems and haws when asked that simple question. Do we want a President who has not got the honesty to simply tell the truth? We tried that with Donald Trump. It went very poorly.
Collective Stupidity — How Can We Avoid It?
