Failed Loyalty Test
The link below tells the story of Donald Trump’s endorsements for the GOP Senate race in Alabama. He initially endorsed Mo Brooks – one of his most loyal disciples – and denounced his opponent Katie Britt as “unfit.” Later he unendorsed Mo Brooks and last night he endorsed Katie Britt. What I found to be very telling was Trump’s own words in his new endorsement. . .
“Last year I endorsed Mo Brooks for the U.S. Senate because I thought he was a Fighter, especially when it came to the Rigged and Stolen Presidential Election of 2020. The evidence is irrefutable. Then, out of nowhere, and for seemingly no reason, Mo backtracked and made a big mistake by going Woke at our massive Cullman, Alabama Rally. Instead of denouncing the Voter Fraud in the Election, Mo lectured the crowd of 63,000 people saying, “Put that behind you, put that behind you,” meaning that, in effect, forget the Rigged Election and go on to the future.”
OMG, Brooks dared suggest it is time to move on from the 2020 election. How disloyal is that! And even worse, he is now “Woke.”
I hope you people are proud of your Dear Leader.
Takeaways – Day One Overview
After watching the presentation by Lynn Cheney last night as she provided an overview of where the detailed evidence will be going, I have these reactions:
- Everyone around the President knew that the Big Lie was “bullshit.” That included not only AG William Barr but also first daughter Ivanka. And, according to them, they shared that view with the President over and over again.
- I had – up to now – bought in to the gaslighting that only a few rogues initiated the violence and everyone else was just carried away. It is now clear that the Proud Boys played the role of shock troops and that between 200-300 of them did not even listen to the inciteful speech but were already positioning themselves to fulfill their mission of breaching the Capitol.
- My view that Mike Pence redeemed his career that day was reinforced. Not only did he not allow himself to be whisked away to safety (or something else), but he also tried to fill the leadership vacuum left by Trump’s refusal to protect the Congress. And, it was chilling to see again the President castigating Pence in front of that rabid crowd as was the Trump reaction to the hang Mike Pence chants that “Maybe our supporters have the right idea, Mike Pence deserves it.”
- I got a better sense of what a running battle it was as the Capitol Police continued to fall back to new defensive lines before finally being overwhelmed by the weight of the onslaught.
- I will be very interested to learn which members of Congress were seeking Presidential Pardons for their roles in the insurrection and what those roles were. I wonder if Jim Jordan was one of them.
- Finally, and most importantly, it is more clear than ever that the violence was not spontaneous, that it was part and parcel of a plan to create a Constitutional crisis from which a Trump victory would emerge. In short, a criminal conspiracy lead by the President of the United States.
Ho Hum. Another Day, Another Putin War Crime.
Prisoners of war being taken out and shot is a clearly defined war crime. So are such kangaroo courts. And this is not in the heat of battle. It is a deliberate flouting of the rules of war. At least one of the two British citizens has family ties in Ukraine and was serving in the Ukraine military before the invasion. The Moroccan national sentenced to death was living in the Ukraine and also joined its military before the invasion. Spinning them as some sort of mercenaries is more of Putin’s lies. And it is not relevant to how POWs are to be treated.

Ted Cruz is by far the leading recipient of gun money in Congress. By far. No wonder he blames the latest tragedy on doors. And gets mad when asked a simple question – Why does this only happen in America?
Trump Cheaters
We all know that Donald Trump cheats when he plays golf. Any golfer will tell you that such cheating is an undeniable sign of poor character. Cheat at golf, cheat at life.

To my mind, at least, this is even more despicable and telling than the use of the foot wedge on the golf course. What sort of people get their jollies gunning down a magnificent animal lured into sure kill range by a paid criminal?

Another Day, Another Fox News GOP Disgrace.
I invite the “conservatives” here to think about this and not reject the story because it is told by Mother Jones. It is a good example of the right wing fake outrage machine in action without regard to ethics, law or common sense.
The “issue” is that while it is difficult to find baby formula right now Biden and “leftists” are providing formula to “illegal babies” held at the border. Do these jackasses not understand that when you hold babies in prison you have a legal and moral obligation to feed them? It is not a hard concept really.
Let me repeat – There is a legal obligation to feed prisoners. The mothers of these babies are not free to go out and search for formula or substitutes.
And how significant is this terrible drain on available supplies? The figure is not published but estimates on the number formula-using babies in custody range from 300 – 1,000. Let’s say 1,000. In the United States there are approximately 10 million infants two and under. Less than a drop in the bucket.
This is a good example of the hard-core dishonesty that now permeates “conservative” America. This is NOT an issue. The government has done NOTHING wrong. Spreading the news of this “favoritism” for “illegal babies” is deliberately divisive. What a bunch of losers!

The Anti-Defamation League has released this new compilation on deadly political violence over the last ten years. The findings are clear. Deadly political violence is mostly committed on behalf of right-wing ideology. This fact has been noted before, but this careful compilation makes it even more clear – Political violence is a right-wing thing.
For the ten years ending in 2021, there were 443 deaths caused by politically motivated killings. 75% were the acts of “conservatives.” 4% were the acts of “leftists” and “black nationalists.” Almost all the rest was the result of the Islamist who killed 49 people at an Orlando night club in 2016.
The most recent example – the Buffalo massacre – is after the period studied but it illustrates how the inciteful and divisive rhetoric that is common on Fox News and other “conservative” outlets gets turned into deadly action. In this case, the maniac was literally quoting nonsense spread by Tucker Carlson.
This deadly pattern is not going to go away until EVERYBODY – not just Democrats – condemns the lies, distortions and hate speech that fuels it.
