Makes one wonder what the upper levels of the administration think about the lower levels. Are they the “Deep State” trying to undermine Trump? Or are they the bureaucrats that do the grunt work all over the government?

Defense Production Act,and how it could be used today, explained by the guy who oversaw the program at DOD
Pretty clear cut on how Mr. McGinn thinks Mr. Trump could utilize the DPA to assist in the battle against COVID-19.
His closing is a good one. “COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving threat to our nation’s economic and national security. The Defense Production Act is an important tool and exactly what we need as we seek to develop additional short- and medium-term responses to this unprecedented impact on our domestic industrial base. Depending on how the Trump administration utilizes the DPA, this could be a big step forward in combatting the pandemic.”
Package #3
Good update on what has been done and what is potentially coming from the Federal government.
Anthony Scaramucci was on CNN the other night and I happened to flip to it while he was saying, that based on what he has studied, it it going to take in the range of $3 TRILLION total. Seemed astronomical at first hearing, but when you consider the debt as gone up one-third of that recently, it doesn’t seem so much in the grand scheme of things.
Not sure if “The Mooch” is right, but it was an interesting listen. Wish I could find the clip from Don Lemon’s 10pm show on, I think, Monday.

So Mr. Trump signs the DPA and then does not move forward on it? What is he waiting for?

Went to my regular Wednesday evening yoga class last night. Prior to starting, the instructor explained all of the sanitation actions they were taking. The floor had been steam cleaned. They reduced to use of props (bolsters, mostly), disinfecting the blocks used after each class, and rotating the blankets to be washed after each session. They were even videoing the class to post online for those who did not want to come to the studio. There was a total of 5 people at the studio and we “socially distanced” ourselves.
The class itself is billed as a restorative yoga class. Works to improve the parasympathetic nervous system. It is part of my own spiritual, mindful, and physical well being efforts. I look forward to this class each week as a way to shake the “hump day” mentality. (Some days you’re the dog, some you’re the leg.)

Did my taxes last weekend. Small federal refund coming, but, like last year, I owe VA. OK, adjusted the state withholding on my retirement check to hopefully cover it next year.
But can Virginia come up with a plan to defer payments for 90 days? Or are they gonna slow walk it and tell us AFTER I send in my payment?
Why Mitch? Why?
Apparently, McConnell’s feeling got hurt because Pelosi negotiated the last deal with Mnuchin and felt left out. Now, he isn’t including the Democrats in the Senate in coming up with the next deal. Why not work with Schumer and the Democratic leadership to craft a BIPARTISAN Senate plan?

Pastors, Devin Nunes, 2 Republican governors and the NRA attack the idea that this is a big deal.
Scary that people in power will do anything to undermine common sense approaches by local governments to do what they can to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. And Trump won’t denounce them? SMH!
The sporting life takes another coronavirus hit

And to add to the misery, Hillsborough County Florida is asking for a delay to Wrestlemania 36. (Which is a good idea – IMO) When will it stop? 😭😱😷
Ramping up
I first heard about this on Hear Say with Cathy Lewis. It is nice to see things are ramping up in the testing department. And in what appears to be an efficient manner.
My personal concern was that the first couple in VB were identified through testing at Sentara Princess Anne… around the same time my mother-in-law was in the ER after falling and breaking her right hip that Saturday night. She’s in rehab now and we are waiting to find out if they are going to be testing the residents there that have recently transferred in from SVBPA.
