Leopards don’t change their spots

Makes one wonder what the upper levels of the administration think about the lower levels. Are they the “Deep State” trying to undermine Trump? Or are they the bureaucrats that do the grunt work all over the government?

And from the NY Times report, “The October 2019 report in particular documents that officials at the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services, and even at the White House’s National Security Council, were aware of the potential for a respiratory virus outbreak originating in China to spread quickly to the United States and overwhelm the nation.

“Nobody ever thought of numbers like this,’’ Mr. Trump said on Wednesday, at a news conference.

In fact, they had.”

And here is a copy of the draft report that apparently went nowhere. https://int.nyt.com/data/documenthelper/6824-2019-10-key-findings-and-after/05bd797500ea55be0724/optimized/full.pdf#page=1

Is it too much to ask of our President a little more honesty and for him to stop worrying about how this makes him look? I don’t care how he looks. I care about We, the People, having correct information and questions answered as to why the administration took it’s own reporting and buried it.

  1. I think it has become apparent that anyone who points out trump’s lies or provides ANY facts that make him or his Administration look bad/incompetent/ignorant, “they” are, by his definition part of the Deep State…

  2. QUESTION: If the “Crimson Contagion” simulation was so realistic and reliably predictive as to make Trump a liar, why didn’t the CDC and FDA change its rules and procedures for disease testing and disinfectant manufacturing right away, instead of waiting for a real pandemic?

ANSWER: The simulation was not realistic and reliably predictive enough to change expectations. The reality of Covid-19 has surprised a lot of people, just as Trump said.

This story is a nothingburger. Just another example of useless Trump bashing. We can do better in this forum.

Because the report never went anywhere. Nothing was done with it.

Your answer is the nothing burger. Circumstance seem to indicate than maybe, just maybe, if the study had been given less than the short shrift by the administration, actions could have been taken sooner to be prepared.

If truth equals “Trump basing” that is on Trump and his defenders. The majority on this forum are honest and use truthful reporting. You want blind Trump loyalty, start your own blog for it.

True. Mainly those who used Trump and his FOX mouthpieces, et. al., as their sources of reliable information.

Those in the majority party as well as media, even across the spectrum, were getting the truth. Of course it was called partisan Trump bashing, but that is part and parcel of the regime’s technique to confuse Americans.

Now that reality is sinking in, we find that Trump knew all along that this was a pandemic.

    What a kidder that president.

What in world makes you say such a thing?
