“Wrong or illegal”? Who decides what is illegal? The man who thought Pence could throw the election? And “wrong”? The man who threatened state election officials to also throw an election?

“Racist prosecutors”? No subtle dog whistles needed anymore. “European chauvinists” unite.

Our ex-president is going all in on mob violence to protect himself from the Rule of Law. “Stand by” was for real when said and real today. The GOP is censuring the wrong folks, that is pretty obvious. Exceptionalism is on the line, in my opinion.

The writer runs some numbers and shares his thoughts. The piece is informative, but I’m ambivalent about one aspect.

I am in favor of collecting accurate and detailed data for the statistical analysis of crimes in Virginia. I also dislike the term hate crime because it is legally ambiguous and can cause unintended perceptions in common usage. Maybe something like bias crime would be better.

The editorial makes some very valid points concerning the effectiveness, overall, of ending, or lessening, the tax on military retirements. Property taxes have been eliminated for homes and a primary vehicle for 100% disabled vets. It had to be done via Constitutional amendment, so I don’t know if changing retirement taxation can be done through straight legislative action. I hope this is the case.

I wish there had been more coverage of this in Youngkin’s campaign then the culture war garbage that was the at forefront.

If he can get this done, I COULD possibly consider voting for him next time.

Oh, wait. There is no “next time” in Virginia.

Within hours of the new name for the Washington Football team’s new name, the “Commanders” being announced, the team was universally referred to on the Internet as the Washington Commies.

Some on this forum have steadfastly maintained that vaccination does not affect the transmission of the Omicron variant. You know who you are.

Now we will see if clear evidence that you are wrong can change your mind. CDC has been tracking data by full vaccination status and has just released what it has for the last two months of 2021 when the Omicron variant was by far the predominant strain (95%). Here are the results.

The data shows significant increases for all groups as the year ended but with the vaccinated and boosted at much lower levels than the unvaccinated. In November, unvaccinated adults aged eighteen and over had 13x the risk of testing positive for Covid and 68x the risk of death from Covid compared to those fully vaccinated and boosted.

The conclusion from such data is undeniable. Vaccination not only makes Omicron infection less severe; it also greatly reduces the risk of becoming infected. The infected spread the disease to others. Say goodbye to yet another reason to avoid vaccination and to oppose lifesaving public health mandates.

Antisemitism is like racism in many respects, but is there really a Jewish race?
