Without reading the decision itself, I am glad to see this result.

My view is that the principle of separation of church and state does not require states or their agencies to avoid entanglement with religious practices. I see no Constitutional reason why there cannot be, for example, Catholic or even Muslim public schools, although I can imagine any number of social reasons why it might be best for schools to remain largely secular.

This is an extraordinary event. There are 193 countries in the world. Seven of them wish to harm Russia and believe they can do so by refusing to buy Russian gold.

It is hard to see how Russia will be harmed. The G7 may deprive themselves of a commodity that can be used to back their currencies, but 185 countries, or 90% of the world population is under no obligation to do so.

Interracial marriage could be added to that list of prohibitions. The specter of banning birth control even for married couples could spark a political backlash in the next months.
