Oregon legislator let’s in mob and tells them his plan ahead of time.

It is getting increasingly clear that many, or most, Republicans don’t respect or love, or even like, our nation anymore. They actively betray our values and resort to violence to cause our demise. I am sure that some of the scum in Congress aided and abetted the attackers on 1/6. Oregon was not a one off, but rather the beginning. And it was almost a dress rehearsal for the attempted autogolpe.

Time to get rid of the pure GOP garbage that is trying to set up a dictatorship. What now? “They have no choice” excuse again? Trump got the racist gangs excited and now we put up with this kind of crap.

Findings about 1/6 are revealing more questions than answers.

It would seem at the very least that a president would be kept informed about these serious security issues revealed around the weeks and months of internet chatter regarding violence at an event he organized, even through a proxy, and would be the featured speaker.

My conclusion was that the administration knew the hundreds of people armed and dressed in tactical gear were not a threat to the president. They were his “stand by” gangs. His men and women ready to do his bidding. No surprises except the president’s reluctance to end it all immediately once the fighting began.

The Ancient Desire for Freedom

Source: American Institute for Economic Research.

This brief essay shatters the untested assumption that liberty is a modern concept or merely a superficial product of the Enlightenment. The main difference between now and the ancient past is that today we can show empirically that liberty produces the greatest good for the greatest number.

By liberty I mean something specific: a political arrangement consciously made under which the freedoms and natural rights of individuals are preserved and respected.

Why is this not front page news?

Yale Professor’s speech to Child Study Center

Without addressing the underlying issue, what is wrong with the MSM? If a white professor gave a similar speech about Blacks, does anyone doubt it would be the lead news article on every cable news stations and newspaper, with calls for dismissal and a purge of the department?

Yet not a peep outside of conservative news sources.

At some point, do we not have to hold the partisan press accountable? Even if you are on the  left, do you really want the marketplace of ideas to be based on misinformation and selective reporting? How long will Democrats support a press that acts as the propaganda arm of the radical left?

Your Book Review: Where’s My Flying Car?

Basically, Baby Boomers and the government made flying cars (as well as nuclear power and nanotechology) impossible. Hippies undermined the pre-existing cooperative culture that had enabled large business organizations to function and innovate, but government funding of science was directly counterproductive. A note from the review on the latter (quotations from the book):

AZ Recount being considered…again.

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/recount-audit-maricopa-arizona/2021/05/30/id/1023277/

“Arizona Senators are considering hiring a California-based nonprofit to analyze ballot images and create a third set of numbers to compare with the recount from Dominion Voting Systems machines and the hand recount being conducted by Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based firm in charge of the current audit.”

This reminds me of a political version of this humorous T-Shirt:

“Floggings will continue until morale improves.”

I believe that if this additional efforts takes flight, there will have been 6 recounts, audits, paper shuffling, hand wringing and general low IQ proof that the GOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of Trump, Inc.

The Lab-Leak Theory: Inside the Fight to Uncover COVID-19’s Origins

Source: Vanity Fair.

This article is receiving much attention in the places I haunt on the Internet. Its main revelation is that U.S. government officials had strong incentives and took coordinated action early on to suppress the lab-leak hypothesis as an explanation for Covid-19’s origins. In effect the government created and promoted a false narrative of natural origins for over a year.

It is probably going overboard to accuse the government of lying to the people, but it is not going overboard to say that the people were intentionally misled. This, in turn, justifies speculation that the lab-leak hypothesis itself may be a ruse.

Time will tell, of course. Be skeptical of everything you read or hear on this topic.
