I expect we’ll be hearing more about this, because statutory violations are likely at play. Of particular interest: The fantasy that Trump and/or his campaign subordinates were Russian assets is becoming increasing difficult to sustain. Cognitive dissonance.

Here is why we have Trump.

This amazing fellow has amassed a fortune in the hundreds of millions selling his version of God’s word. In a country where this can happen, having a con man in the White House may have been inevitable. Tragic that it comes at time where thousands of lives will have been sacrificed to the mindless idiocy being sold.

An Inspector General has ruled in favor of Steve Mnuchin who did not comply with a Congressional request for Trump’s tax returns. The finding is that Mnuchin is OKAY because he acted in accordance with a ruling by Trump’s DOJ that he did not have to comply with the request even though the law explicitly entitles Congress to review the tax filing of ANY citizen. The IG says he is not in position to evaluate the legal soundness of the DOJ guidance, only that Mnuchin followed it. You cannot make this stuff up. Maybe a court will uphold the law?

The more ardently Trump fights to keep his PROMISED tax returns secret the more certain we can be that they totally refute his claims to being worth $10 billion and undoubted provide more evidence of how deeply he is in thrall to foreign interests, especially Russian oligarchs.

Not that one is needed, but this particular broken promise will be yet another damning campaign issue for the Biden campaign. It is an easy question that people will understand – what is he hiding?

I recently cancelled my planned trip to NYC. We were taking the train up on Saturday and returning on Monday. A quick hit visit to visit Dad and see the new musical DIANA, with my step other in the roles of QEII and Barbra Cartland. Show is on hold and taking a train in to the heart of Manhattan just doesn’t seem prudent at this time.

Models are NOT Meant to be Accurate

Scott Adams made a point in yesterday’s video that I’d like to share. You can watch the video here, but the point he made is simple enough to convey in a few words: Models (like the IHME model CDC is using to forecast the coronavirus in America) are NOT meant to be accurate, they are meant to useful — typically in a way to convince others to take some action or another.
