Mr. Trump tells the governors here is a framework to open back up and you can do it on your schedule. And less than 24 hours later, he undercuts the governors by appearing to agree with a minority of individuals who think they are immune to the virus. SMH.

Personally, I wish the plan was more aggressive, but I don’t pretend to know how to make it so. As always in our times the science is insufficient to the task at hand.
As it is, the “slow-and-cautious” crowd should be very pleased. So should those who want a definitive sense of direction. I expect the compulsive anti-Trumpers will find something to complain about; Joe Biden, for example, has already expressed his disdain.
But all in all, we needed a plan and now we have one. Next pandemic, let’s start by dismantling the CDC and FDA.
What about Amtrak?
Airlines are holding “travel credits” for those cancelling trips and they just got a $10 billion bailout. Amtrak issued me a credit (less $75 cancellation fee) for a trip the first weekend in May to New York freakin’ City, THE hot spot in this country for COVID-19. What happens if I am unable to use the credit because it is not safe in the next 12 months to travel to NYC? Will I get the remainder of my credit back?
This entire cluster -(f-bomb) falls squarely on the shoulders of those companies; the airlines and Amtrak.
Blue Tsunami rolling in?
Trump carried Wisconsin by about 30,000 votes in 2016. In fact, recent statewide elections have been decided by similar close margins. Not this time. The “leftist” candidate defeated the Trump-endorsed incumbent by 120,000 votes. You know, the candidate about whom Trump bragged that his endorsement was the only reason the Democrats wanted to postpone the election.
As a reminder, this is the state that the GOP SCOTUS ruled had to conduct its election without delay and without extending time for mail-in votes to be counted. This is what the Republicans fought for in spite of the risk to the voters from the virus. Their voter suppression on steroids backfired badly.
US pays for R&D, company sells ventilators overseas.
I thought Trump was the master deal maker. It seems this deal wasn’t one of the top 100. Another corporate welfare recipient paints “Sucker” on our backs. This is truly class warfare.
Skin is Not a Philosophy or an Economic Policy.
Joe Biden must pick a progressive black woman as VP if he wants to win
First, in eliminating half of the prospects without consideration, poor old Uncle Joe has demonstrated that he is incapable of making intelligent and rational decisions.
Now, to the point: The US economy was running like a well-oiled machine until the Chinese foisted their catastrophe on the rest of the world. Now, we must rebuild it — and make no mistake, the American people know that Mr Trump is the only choice for that — and it is not even close.
“[Trump’s] already dismissing [Biden]. He’s gonna destroy him. He’s gonna kill him man. I mean it’s such an easy target, it’s like Mike Tyson versus a three-year-old.” – Joe Rogan
Yet Another Outrage
Is there any group of people in this country more disgusting than the Republican Party? While people are dying, healthcare workers don’t have PPEs. SBA has run out of money and tens of millions of people face unemployment they manage to slip this bullshit into the vital stimulus package before anyone had a chance to analyze the impact. I hope Moscow Mitch survives the pandemic because there is a special place in Hell waiting for him.
Trump loses red states by removing his supporters.
Opening the economy piecemeal brings up a question

I’m only using The Hill story as a reference point on the discussion of opening the economy.

It would be interesting to hear what our local Libertarian thinks of this. Anyone else, too. But I asked Don about the LP nominee a long time before Corona took over our lives. (If only it WERE the beer).
