Conservatism Inc. has been re-evaluating itself and contemplating some sort of re-invention for many months. I don’t know why, exactly. The essays, however, have been numerous — and mainly too boring to share.

Sticks and Stones

I have had numerous requests lately to delete posts or block someone.

I abhor moderation. First, it’s a lot of work and there are fish to catch. Second, If I do that, there would be suspicion of bias, and it might even be valid. I’m not perfect. The resentment that having posts blocked would raise might do more harm than the incivility I would be trying to discourage.

As a result, I have never blocked a post or banned anyone. WordPress filters some posts its algorithms see as spam, but they go to a pending folder and I have always passed on valid posts. when they are brought to my attention.

So, maybe a Beer Summit would help.

But the personal insults and bickering are getting worse. Maybe it’s a function of overall hyperpartisanship of the country, but this is getting less pleasant.

So, call ideas or policies stupid, but don’t call people stupid. Or racists, unless you can back that up. Be civil, speak to each other as though we were sitting around a table face to face, and everyone is armed.

But still some people will be nasty, because it is their nature. So, try to get a thick skin and understand that when people start acting like 14 year old mean girls they have lost the intellectual argument and their nastiness is their surrender.

07/21/2021: Lab Alert: Changes to CDC RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 Testing

Back in July CDC announced its intention to retire the PCR test used to diagnose Covid-19 infections. This old story is new again because the retirement becomes effective in a couple of days, on Dec. 31.

And eye doctors convince people they need glasses by telling them their vision isn’t perfect.

Also, further evidence that the GOP has ZERO plans for improving the lives in this country. They have no plans for ANYTHING, except to keep the Defense budget bloated and to be able to sit in the chambers of Congress. I guess the seats are quite comfortable.

Here “conservatives”, have a look into the mirror. You will not like it but try thinking about what is being said.

It is not just the “leftists” at Salon who have noted the victimhood politics of “conservatives.” Google “conservative victimhood” to find dozens more similar pieces in reputable journals. No wonder you love your guns so much. You have convinced yourselves that everyone is coming to get you.
