Mass shootings are rare, and over quickly, so thwarting them can be best done by someone already there and NOT in uniform.

Florida passes “Anti-groomer Law”
The law prohibits teachers from discussing gender dysphoria and homosexuality with children Kindergarten to 3rd grade.
Who the hell thought that was appropriate to discuss with 5 to 9 year olds in the first place? If parents decide to broach that subject at that age with their own child who is perhaps showing some signs of confusion, that is one thing, but schools teaching about these issues at that age without the parent’s knowledge to all children was so obviously wrong that in saner times no one would have even considered doing it.
Of course, the Biden administration says it’s hateful and threatens to block funds.
The campaign commercials write themselves.
This fellow, Gonzalo Lira, appears to be an American living in Kharkiv and YouTubing about the war. His videos are not particularly entertaining or journalistic, and Lira himself doesn’t seem like a very sympathetic figure to me. He may even be fake or a pretender.
But there is a possibility that he is real and actually broadcasting from within the war zone. On that basis, I share the link.
The source takes issue with Ukrainian reports of Russian losses.
I agree with the Colonel. I don’t believe the Ukrainian resistance is being as effective as many sources, including Fox News, make them out to be.
Russia offers immediate cease fire
Quite simply, recognition of the separatist regions and Ukrainian neutrality enshrined in its constitution. It’s the best deal Ukraine can expect, and really nothing for Ukraine to lose it will not lose anyway.
This web page may be of some interest. It claims: “News in English of Russia’s anti-militarization operation in Ukraine is scant and hard to find. The following is a summary of what is known about the situation in Ukraine and where to find current and ongoing information.”
Aside from some scholarly insight into Putin, his viewpoint, and the West’s reaction, there are very interesting historical perspectives. Since we have some pretty strong opinions here, lets see what a historian has to offer.
Saying that Ted Cruz is the voice of reason is hard to do. But when he’s right, he’s right.
Meanwhile, Lindsay Graham kind of put his foot in his mouth (or thumb up his keyboard?) with saying out loud what, I would not be surprised to find out, many people are thinking. I have had the same thought, but have not shared it with anyone. (Oops.)
The ramifications would be too great for a state sponsored assassination of another country’s leader. It would be easier if Putin were on the battlefield like his Ukrainian counterpart. But still bad to say out loud.
The link isn’t that important, it’s just like everything else in the media, and not just mainstream.
On FOX this morning they spent about 20 minutes on a Ukrainian couple that supposedly just got married and then immediately joined the Army to defend their country. Nice wedding pictures with the family and church, followed by pictures of them in uniform and deployed manning various weapons, including a Dragon anti-tank missile. which is pretty impressive for a guy who can’t have had more than a couple of hours training. Especially with the distraction of having a photographer following the couple everywhere they go.
So, we are being shown “Red Dawn” but it looks a lot like “Wag the Dog” to me. I’m just waiting for the video of the woman running through the rubble clutching her baby that looks a lot like a bag of groceries.
So, who is playing us and why?
