I’m glad to see that Canadian journalist Lauren Southern returned to video blogging after “retiring” from the medium in 2019. I regret that I have missed two years of her work because I thought she had stopped working. My fault for not paying attention.

…”likely criminal”…
Not my words, but the word of the judge who ruled Eastman has to turn over most of the documents requested by the January 6th Commission.
“Carter said there was enough evidence to find a likelihood that Trump committed at least two felonies: obstruction of an official proceeding, a serious charge that has been brought against hundreds of Capitol riot defendants, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.”
…”Carter acknowledged that the case before him is not positioned to address who should be assigned responsibility for last year’s attack on the Capitol.”
While no criminal finding is in the order, there apparently is enough information to indicate that John Eastman’s records are not ALL protected by attorney-client privilege because there are possible criminal acts involved.
A “gaffe” is when a politician accidentally tells the truth.
That aphorism is attributed to Michael Kinsley whom older people will remember from the early days of Crossfire when he and Pat Buchanan shared the stage and politics was still fun and quite a bit more honest. His actual words were “A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth – some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”
The other day while visiting Poland President Biden offered this apparently unscripted remark about Vladimir Putin. . . “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”
In my opinion, this was a gaffe as defined by Kinsley. Our policy should be and – I believe – is “regime change” in Russia. But, it was not helpful to say it out loud. Biden is known to be gaffe prone. He needs to be a little more devious and suppress the innate honesty that has caused problems in the past.
Or, on the other hand, was it a deliberate signal to Putin opponents inside Russia that all will be forgiven, and Russia can rejoin the civilized nations once the dictator is removed? It may have had that effect, but I will go with it being an old-fashioned gaffe.
Opinion by María Zakharova: BioBiden
The writer, Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova, is the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. She published the linked article this morning on Telegram, which is a Twitter-like service based in Dubai.
The timeline looks accurate to me, although there are a couple of events I would not have thought to associate with the biological facilities in Ukraine.
As this is a developing story, perhaps some clarity will begin to emerge in the near future.

US fighting Russia ‘to the last Ukrainian’: veteran US diplomat
When you get the chance to listen to a smart person with relevant experience, you should take it. The exemplar in this case is Chas Freeman, the interviewee in the video. Wikipedia has an article about him where you can learn something of his background.
I suppose Mr. Freeman might be a Putin puppet, but I doubt it. I disagree with him that Putin has made substantial mistakes in invading Ukraine, but I am eager to promote many of his other observations on the Ukraine crisis. Hence the sharing of this video.
On the question of Putin’s substantial mistakes, I say time will tell.
Another pressing issue for SCOTUS
The potential of a HUGE conflict of interest exists here. A lot of valid questions need to be answered before proclaiming Justice Thomas to be compromised by his wife’s actions and interactions.

Ukraine’s Propaganda War: International PR Firms, DC Lobbyists and CIA Cutouts
I’ve been warned more than once lately that Russian propaganda cannot be believed. In fact, I’ve been told that any information that seems to support a Russian propaganda talking point must be rejected out of hand, because — tautologically — all information that isn’t anti-Russia is automatically pro-Russia.
I am sharing the instant article because it illustrates the use of propaganda by an enemy of Russia. And I am doing this, in turn, to make a point.
The point, simply, is this: Propaganda is propaganda.
Reasonable accommodations
Pilot Fed Judge rules ADA applies to students
Briefly the parents of 12 students at increased risk from COVID can ask their school districts to require masks.
The Americans with Disabilities Act does require reasonable accommodations but does not specify they be what the disabled person asks.
I would suggest it would be a more reasonable accommodation to provide the individual at-risk children with full face, positive pressure respirators than to require 300 kids at a school to wear masks. And safer for the affected kid as well.
