I am no fan of this Supreme Court but in this case, the law is clear. The House Ways and Means Committee has the explicit legal authority to review the tax returns of ANY citizen. Mr. Trump is a citizen. It is not even a close call.
I wonder why President Biden waited until after the election to lower the price of gas.
Since it is totally in his control, he could have helped Democrats if he had done this last month.
It is a puzzlement.
Be Careful What You Wish For
Durham came up with zilch but you still wanted the “Biden crime family,” the FBI, and the DOJ to be publicly “investigated.” Looks like you are going to get what you want.
The face of the Republican Party is going to be Jim Jordan and James Comer and they did not hesitate to let us know what the top Republican priority is going to be. Maybe I am wrong, but I do not think that the GOP got a shellacking in the election because this is what people want Congress to be doing. But there they are with their faces hanging out spreading one baseless slander after another.
They took the opportunity of this presser to tout the 1,050 page report they issued before the election (to no avail) about FBI and DOJ politicization. 1,050 pages! Oh My! This must be serious!
Uh, no. It turns out that the actual report regurgitating “conservative” complaints about the FBI is just 43 pages. The third sentence sums it up : “The problem lies, for example, with the FBI hierarchy that spied on President Trump’s campaign and ridiculed conservative Americans.”
The rest is empty filler. Literally empty with, for example, 290 pages with nothing but a signature. And about 500 pages of letters THEY wrote to Merrick Garland and others.
Looks like we are in for some grotesque abuse of Congressional investigative powers – Benghazi on steroids. Personally, I think having people like Jordan front and center for the GOP is going to resound to the benefit of the Democrats in the next election. Bigly. So, “conservatives,” enjoy it while you can.

Elections have consequences.
If Catherine Cortez Masto wins in Nevada – and it appears increasingly likely that she will with most of the uncounted votes coming from Democratic strongholds – then Herschel Walker will lose BIGLY on December 6th in Georgia. With control of the Senate no longer at stake, there is no earthly reason for any sentient person who cares about our country to vote for maybe the least qualified and most unworthy candidate ever nominated for high office.
And, when all the dust settles and the Democrats have increased their control of the Senate by one more vote, the oversized role of Senator Manchin will come to an end. And that, IMHO, is a good thing.
Meanwhile, one of the Democrats the Right most loves to hate, Governor Gavin Newsom, won reelection in our largest, most dynamic and least violent states with 58% of the vote. And on the East Coast (not on the ocean) Josh Shapiro beat his MAGA opponent for Governor of former-swing-state Pennsylvania with 56% of the vote.
I wonder if these developments and others spell the end of the Rupert Murdoch empire propping up Dear Leader. The front page of the New York Post may offer a clue . . .

MAGA-Republicans have been very pleased with Elon Musk taking control of Twitter and promising a return to moderation-free “free speech.” At last MAGA-Republicans can tweet whatever they want without those pesky “woke” rules and obstacles such as bans on hate-speech and “alternative facts.” It is gonna be great, right?
Too bad that Musk did not comprehend the source of the revenues that somehow made Twitter worth $44 Billion, Here is a hint – it is paid advertising. And guess what? Major advertisers do not want to be associated with racism, misogyny, nativism, homophobia, sedition, hate speech, egregious LIES or gross incivility of any sort.
Musk is now trying to blame Twitter’s imploding revenues on “activists.” Uh, nope. It is his statements and actions that have convinced big advertisers that the un-moderated cesspool he is heading for will not be good for their brands. Simple.
