Conservative commentator Philip Giraldi shares a few observations from his recent trip to Italy: “In the course of the week we managed to speak to many of the co-celebrants, primarily those from Italy, Germany and Britain and the conversations inevitably turned to the subject of Donald Trump and what he is doing. I fully expected that I would receive an earful, but what actually developed was quite a surprise. Nearly everyone had good things to say about the American president, though there were suggestions that he might be more than just a little bit pazzo, verrückt, or bonkers.”
Spengler is right, but I suspect it is impossible to break the sustained illusion that everything good in today’s economy is President Obama’s doing.

One is tempted to hope the results of this experiment might be applied, as it were, to saving the whales. With a little natural genetic engineering, perhaps we could help things along by substituting a productive symbiosis between modern chickens and sheepdogs for chickens’ domestication by humans.

What a hoot! Sen. Kaine’s proposal empanels a batch of national security experts to sit around discussing climate change, presumably with long faces, although the legislation doesn’t specifically require them.
