I debated with myself about sharing this clip for most of the day. It is a wonderful conversation piece, but snooty know-it-alls surely will denounce it. What to do?

I decided: “Listen to this young man.”

This fellow, Gonzalo Lira, appears to be an American living in Kharkiv and YouTubing about the war. His videos are not particularly entertaining or journalistic, and Lira himself doesn’t seem like a very sympathetic figure to me. He may even be fake or a pretender.

But there is a possibility that he is real and actually broadcasting from within the war zone. On that basis, I share the link.

The source takes issue with Ukrainian reports of Russian losses.

I agree with the Colonel. I don’t believe the Ukrainian resistance is being as effective as many sources, including Fox News, make them out to be.

I had no idea that Russia and Ukraine were negotiating. My impressions of the conflict have been shaped by various knee-jerk narratives I’ve been hearing, but that diplomacy is occurring was a complete surprise to me.

WSJ’s writer forecasts a dramatic context for Joe Biden’s State of the Union address tonight. The way she sees it, the event holds potential for either a presidential reset or a progressive face plant. I don’t share her implied optimism that Stumble Joe is up to the task at hand.
