Ukraine – Killing Surrendering Soldiers, Shelling Civilians

Source: Moon of Alabama.

It appears that things are getting ugly in Ukraine with (according to Russia) Ukrainian forces murdering their own troops who attempt to surrender and Ukrainian artillery brazenly shelling civilian targets.

The United States will have little to be proud of when the full story of our support for this war is told. If Joe Biden were a competent president, he’d be actively engaged in bringing this conflict to an end.

But Biden is not competent. He doesn’t even notice that he is backing the bad guys.

      1. If those conversations were so gin-soaked they included calling the French “the bad guys,” I doubt the United States would have been born at all.

            Neither are the Ukrainians

Credibly? Bu Putin? Hardly credible. He is almost as big a liar as your hero Trump.

You just hate neo-Nazis unless they are in this country marching through the streets chanting “Jews will not replaces us.” Then they are “very fine people.” Or if they are assaulting the Congress to overturn an election. then they are “patriots.”

Is it possible for a human being to say something more stupid than that?

Do you really not understand that “information” provided by Russian propaganda is not reliable? It may or may not be true on any particular claim, but without a free press not subject to punishment it has no credibility.

One place where your source is absurdly wrong is its idea that it is up to Biden to negotiate with Russia on behalf of Ukraine. Uh, that would be like Chamblerlain negotiationg on behalf of Czechoslovakia. Not a good idea. If Putin wants an off ramp, he needs to find it. Meantime, we should provide the help that Ukraine asks for. Anything else would be a betrayal at this stage.

Do YOU really not understand that all information is unreliable in some way? Here, Russia’s assertions are clearly marked as such, so if you choose to be close-minded, the effort was made easy for you.

RE: “One place where your source is absurdly wrong is its idea that it is up to Biden to negotiate with Russia on behalf of Ukraine.”

The source makes no such claim. Go back and read it.

Maybe the piece didn’t, but YOU did.

…”Russia’s assertions are clearly marked as such”…

So, like DJT, you believe everything Putin tells you. Git it.

Rumors of Ukrainian soldiers being shot in the back for surrendering have been floating around for weeks. To my knowledge, this is the first time Russia’s MOD has reported such an incident. Since Moon of Alabama points out that the report is unconfirmed, I don’t know what you think I believe, but I would recommend that you don’t assume too much.

Deflection is right out of the Trumpist playbook. They claim we did it, but it was actually them who did. Deflection is the word.

“Since Moon of Alabama points out that the report is unconfirmed, I don’t know what you think I believe, but I would recommend that you don’t assume too much.”

Then quit posting unverified information. It makes you appear lazy. If you posted the piece and then had some sort of corroborating evidence indicating it was true, then you would have a case.

And don’t give me “I posted it because it was worthy of discussion” BS you always throw around like so much feces in the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. You posted it because you seem to get your jollies posting Putin-supporting propaganda and calling it true, in some semantical way.

I suggest you go back and read it. It is at the top of the article.

In discussing the declining interest in Ukraine on Google your source says. . .

“This is a problem because it takes pressure off the Biden administration to negotiate with Russia over Ukraine and the future security architecture in Europe.”

Uh, I know how much you would like to believe that, but the truth is I understood what your source was saying. You apparently did not.

          8. So, you are now on record saying the U.S. has no interest in negotiating “with Russia over Ukraine and the future security architecture in Europe.”

I have no idea how to respond to such a level of stupidity. Maybe you think the U.S. is not part of Nato, or maybe you think that the U.S. role in geopolitics is merely that of a bystander. Either way, you don’t know what you are talking about. Fuck off.

            Quick recap. . .

You asked where the source based on Putin propaganda was wrong.

            I provided an answer.

You did not like the answer, so you simply denied what the source had said. Accused me of not reading with comprehension, stupidity, and “screwing up.”

I cited the text where they said what they said.

You come back with “fuck off.” Pathetic.

And I stand behind my opinion. It would be a betrayal for our country to negotiate an end to the invasion with Putin unless asked to do so by Ukraine.

Hey troll boy. Why don’t you attack Mr. Roberts for refusing to read the piece I posted from The Bulwark yesterday? Tis the right that has closed its mind to rational thought. You, on the other hand, offer nothing but tripe, snipe, and gripe.

No, I don’t. By posting the source, I imply that I think it is worth reading and thinking about. If you wish to challenge the source, the onus is on YOU to make a competent challenge. So far, no one has done so.

Yes, I do, but only after analyzing several Bulwark posts you have made and taking the trouble to explain how they failed to be persuasive to me. I don’t owe you any more explanations, but you demanded to know if I had read your latest Bulwark item and I answered your question. What more do you want?

Simple. Admit that you are the hypocrite you are, read pieces you don’t agree with as you DEMAND that everyone does with your fertilizing posts, and lose the traits that caused me to dub you Dr. Semantics.
