It’s official. The U.S. is now the U.S.S.R.
We can trace the beginning of Leviathan’s slide into totalitarianism back to 9/11 and the order to begin searching the public at airports. Today our president expands upon that intrusion by using Covid-19 as an excuse for federal involvement in the daily lives of all Americans.
Stumble Joe is a creature without shame. I see him as the most anti-American president of my lifetime.
That’s what happens when we look the other way when government uses pressure on private parties to do what it is forbidden to do itself.

What once were vices are now habits. Here’s hoping that the courts will restore sanity, or else that the administration’s overreach will prove — in practice — as effective as the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Kinda like the Texas abortion law.

While he certainly has the authority to mandate vaccines for government workers and probably government contractors, I don’t think he does for private industry. OSHA can deem external factors such as paint spray, equipment, lighting, etc as unsafe but I don’t think courts will agree they can enforce a private employer covid vaccine mandate any more than they can require companies to make employees eat fruits and vegetables.

Another possibility is that someone will claim injury or death from a vaccine and sue their employer for mandating it. It is unclear whether OSHA compliance confers immunity from liability of that sort.

I had to think about that. Somehow, he has managed to combine the breathtaking incompetence of Jimmy Carter with the utter disdain for the Constitution of Barack Obama. He’d be dangerous if he weren’t so sure to fail.

Trump did fail, and lost the 2020 election after managing to probably kill a few hundred thousand Americans in my opinion. Your statement is spot on except for the comparisons, but that is your opinion.

That about sums it up. Of course both parties crank up the rhetoric based on “gotcha’s” in today’s internet news world.
However, last year, the GOP offered no platform other than Trump and his planks of “fake news”, his Big Lie, Mexican rapists and questionable right wing jurists. Just a series of Cleekisms”.

I wonder if those referring to Biden’s mandate as a trip to the USSR would have the same feelings about George Washington mandating vaccines.
I also ask how many had to show proof of vaccinations for entry into school. My mom kept my childhood vaccination record (and my brother’s) in her files with important family documents. We still have our children’s’ records.
The argument makes no sense when those who are anti-mandate forget how many vaccinations are mandated already for school, travel and other life events.

If I didn’t like something my employer was doing, I would simply get a new job. I’m a free man in a free market after all.

All of the surveillance and political prisoners; none of the social medicine, housing, pensions, job guarantees, infrastructure.
