Who Shot Ashli Babbitt

Aside from Trump sparking the interest of the press. the family is filing suit over the coverup of the murder of Ashli  Babbitt. (and if George Floyd was murdered, Babbitt sure as hell was.)

    1. I should?

The total lack of transparency, including not naming the officer or the details of the shooting don’t bother you?

Why, are Trump supporters less than human?

If she had been a Black woman unnecessarily shot looting a store during a BLM protest you would be outraged.

      1. But she was not a Black looter in an empty store was she?

She was at the head of a rabid mob that was breaking into the chamber of the House and she was leading, or shoved, into the broken door. One man with a pistol against a furious, foaming at the mouth crazed mob.

This mob had already tried to kill officers and wanted to hang the VP.

To use your analogy, if the mob had been Black, the shooting would have started long before. But that is speculation just like yours.

        Gaslighting continues.

        1. How do you know that, considering that there has been no explanation of the shooting beyond the declaration that it was OK?

Tried to kill police officers? Have any of the rioters been charged with attempted murder?

          1. “How do you know that . . . ”

There is video on line that clearly shows the lead up to and the moment of shooting. That’s how I know that. Go ahead and pretend you haven’t seen it. That is the way you roll.

The officer is not named because of the real danger that one of your Proud Boy heroes will do him harm.

You are really a joke. Many times you have declared that shooting a “trespasser” is a righteous use of deadly force. But when the shooter is black and the “trespasser” is white you change your tune and throw out charges of murder. As I said earlier – you ought to be ashamed.

          1. And that is going to come out in the House investigation that the Republicans are fighting so hard to derail.

See, there are a lot of questions about the attempted autogolpe, but you might not like the answers.

It just makes Gaslighting that much harder.

          2. “. . . no explanation is required….”

Uh, no explanation is needed. The entire sequence of events is on video. The officer was doing his sworn duty. There was no reason to make his name public and plenty of reason not to.

Besides, you are lying again. The DOJ published a very detailed explanation for the decision not to prosecute the officer involved.

No decent and patriotic person would be accusing this officer of “murder” based on this statement and the publicly available video showing exactly what transpired.

  1. The comparison between Ms. Babbit and Mr. Floyd’s deaths are apples and kumquats.

    1) Ms. Babbit was participating in an unruly mob threatening not only the lives of Congress and the police assigned to protect them, but also to attempt to overturn the results of a FREE AND FAIR election.

    2) Mr. Floyd was IN CUSTODY for passing a bad bill. Handcuffed on the ground with 4 police officers kneeling on his back and neck, including for over 9 minutes by one officer which directly contributed to his death.

Your comparison of the two separate incidents is, in a phrase, HORSE FEATHERS!

  2. This long video (45 minutes) goes into great detail of what was occurring on January 6. Includes the Ashli Babbitt shooting. I was shocked at the amount of fighting between police and the mob outside of the capitol that continued long after the breach of the building (and the Babbitt shooting). I am surprised more people weren’t shot and killed.

I assume that it is behind the paywall.

    1. RE: “I am surprised more people weren’t shot and killed.”

I am, too. The mob seemed pretty angry, but far from bloodthirsty. The video debunks the insurrection myth.

      1. I see it that way too. Angry and even violent, but no plan for an insurrection.

But again, regardless of what led up to Babbitt’s shooting, nothing can justify the lack of transparency regarding the investigation of the shooting.

That is an entirely separate and indefensible issue. An unarmed woman was killed, and “we investigated ourselves and found ourselves to be blameless, and you don’t need to know why” just isn’t going to cut it.

        1. …”but no plan for an insurrection.”

So what would you call it? The Oath Keepers who have been arrested and charged have admitted to storming the Capitol with the express intent to overturn the results of the election.

Oh, wait. They were trespassers and tourist who got a little out of hand.

          Delusional.

You justify the shooting of angry looters and vandals for property damage yet you are giving Ms. Babbitt some sort of pass for being part of an angry mob attempting to subvert our democratic process because you don’t like the investigation being open to you.

By the way, the entire incident is still being investigated by law enforcement so for them to release information concerning anything at this point could be detrimental to any criminal preceedings that are going to occur.

And if you REALLY want all of the information to come out, you should be supportive of the initial Jan 6 commission that the Pelosi and the GOP negotiated and then killed. A negotiation where the GOP got ALL they asked for from Pelosi.

          1. By subverting the results of the election and installing, not electing, INSTALLING Mr. T. when he LOST THE GOD DAMNED ELECTION was the plan. THAT is assuming control of the government at the order of the head insurrectioinst. To say otherwise is to deny what was happening that day.

            Liked by 2 people

        2. So why are the Republicans so afraid of an independent commission that agreed to everything they wanted. And now they are trying to undermine a House investigation. The shooting would most assuredly be a part of that probe.

Republicans moan about not investigating the shooting, but still complain about any investigation at all.

What is really sad is you actually believe that.

What if the situation was reversed and 45 won and a bunch of anti-T folks decided to do the same thing? Would you still be saying there was no insurrection? You would be screaming for the death penalty for all those involved.

You and Don are just so enamored with the far right wing and anti-patriots that stormed the Capitol, it is disgusting.

You mean like the Kavanaugh protests or the women’s march? Those had an air of demonic possession that doesn’t exist in this case.

          Like

          1. I don’t recall ANY violent attempt to subvert the democratic process. And referring to those protesters as being demonically possessed is another move to the top of the stupid comment list. I find it quite telling that your comment targets people who were concerned about a potential serial assaulter of women becoming a Supreme Court Justice or women marching in support of their rights as human beings and citizens of this country.

your delusions grow more dangerous by the minute.

I don’t recall security officials beaten, gassed, tased to derail the Kavanaugh appointment. We’re plastic cuffs brought in? How about a gallows? Climbing gear?

Do you have any references or just making stuff up again?

I gave my impression of the video willemoore1958 posted. My impression is that the video debunks the insurrection myth. I further note that the 1/6 crowd did not seem “demonic” to me as have other notable mobs.

I give myself as a reference, since I am the one who had the impressions I shared and I am the one best able to report them accurately.

You have yet to answer a direct question with a direct answer.

WHAT DO YOU CALL THE EVENTS OF JAN 6TH WHERE AN ANGRY MOB ATTACKED THE CAPITOL BUILDING WITH THE INTENT OF OVERTURNING THE RESULTS OF A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION BY THREATENING THE LIVES OF THE SITTING VP, THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE AND THE HUNDREDS OF COPS ASSIGNED TO PROTECT THAT BODY AND ITS DENIZENS?

Your impression of reality is called into question by your words and I am throwing the BS flag on your entire impression of the facts.

You have really jumped the shark with that inane remark.

By the way, I attended that women’s march with my wife, daughter and daughter-in-law. Not a demon in sight. Peaceful protest at its finest. Look it up. It is in the Constitution.

Just trying to prove that you are not capable of an adult discussion? No need, we already knew that.

But, no, attending the march to support women’s rights (which have been systematically undercut by the Trump GOP as feared) does not make me a woman. It still leaves me a man who – unlike you Trump Republicans – is not afraid of women having the equal protection of the law.

        2. Don’t try to express my opinion for me, especially when you ignore the issue I raised.

That issue is the lack of transparency in the shooting of Ms Babbitt.

          1. I addressed the issue. You just don’t like the manner in which I did so.

All you seem to care about is the tragedy of her homicide. Yet you ignore the entire reason it occurred.

You have expressed your opinion clearly and I called you out for what it is. Delusional and a distraction.

Yes. One must wonder why the details of the shooting have not been made public. This lack of transparency invites speculation and conspiracy theories.

For example, the shooter might have been part of a plot to incite the mob.

You are ready to suggest that a lowly policeman was part of a conspiracy to cause the violent insurrection but you deny that the obvious instigator – Donald Trump – was not? Laughable.

To give you the direct answer you request, I call the events of Jan. 6 an extraordinary political protest of the kind our Constitution allows.

There was nothing peaceful about what happened at the Capitol.

You are living by the axiom “Believe me, not your own lying eyes.” And it is dangerous and disgusting.

Uh, that is utter nonsense. If they had stopped outside of the police barricade to shout their nonsense and threats then maybe. But they did not. And it was not a matter of being “carried away.” You do not bring bear spray, pepper spray, stun guns, various clubs, zip ties and pipe bombs to a “political protest.”
