Heavily armed personnel with no identifying insignia and refusing to answer a simple question: “Who are you with?” Is the plan of confusing Americans yet again really what we should expect going forward?
Are they on the payroll of Erik Prince?

They’re prison guards being brought into service because the DC police are not adequate to the threat.
Of course they conceal their identities, they’re going to go back to work in a place full of violent criminals who will outnumber them 50 to 1. They can’t risk being singled out for retaliation.

…”prison guards being brought into service “…
You are probably correct on that score.
BUT consider this …”federal prison guards known formally as the Bureau of Prisons—whose riot units make up a sizable chunk of the officers imported to D.C. and who represent the single largest component of federal officers in the Justice Department—are concerning to see on the streets in part because they’re largely untrained in civilian law enforcement; they normally operate in a controlled environment behind bars with sharply limited civil liberties and use-of-force policies that would never fly in a civilian environment.”

That last phrase should cause one to pause and think for just one second. Especially if one is inclined to believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. (I also wonder if we will see our first challenge of the Third Amendment coming soon to a D.C. court near you.)
