Khamenei renews his Salman Rushdie death fatwa, and gets his tweet deleted

Twitter is, of course, entitled to delete any content it wishes. Still, this particular instance of censorship seems overzealous to me.

  1. Why? If Trump were to suggest that someone “take care” of Acosta of CNN, do you think such a tweet should stay up?

Interestingly enough, Rushdie has been declared an enemy of Islam and it is the duty of faithful Muslims to kill him.

Acosta and the rest of the media have been declared enemies of the American people. What should patriotic Americans do?

The Fatwa has put a few things in a different light. Is there a difference because one is a religious leader and the other is a president?

    1. RE: “Why?”

Fatwa’s are a “normal” and authorized component of theocratic Islam. Hiding them creates a distortion of reality.

If the president issued a death threat, I’d want to know about that, too.

Twitter obviously doesn’t exist to fulfill my personal expectations, but I remain unhappy about the increasing, and increasingly casual acceptance of censorship in media.
