NYC seeded outbreaks nationwide
As I pointed out early on, people fleeing a plague take it with them.
While China was still encouraging international flights out of Wuhan, it forbade travel from Wuhan to other parts of China.
We should have done the same with travel from Greater NYC.
A naval aviator told me to notice that when the fly-bys are done, the Air Force Thunderbirds will be practicing social distancing, but the Blue Angels will not.
Also, there were fly-bys by stealth bombers last night, but nobody noticed.
The recent approval of remdesivir as the standard of care for Covid-19 does not mean what people think.
I am somewhat concerned. The universities and private sector have done a magnificent job in ramping up our ability to test for Coronavirus infections, largely by repurposing existing capacity.
That will provide sufficient testing capability for reopening the country IF the phased plan is followed. The idea is that as each state reaches the entry level for reopening, based on a downward trajectory in infection and hospitalization, the testing can be redirected there to support reopening, state by state.
However, 14 states will be ending their various restrictions within the next week, and NONE of them meet the standard of declining infections. That will very likely overwhelm the testing capacity.
The Federal government does not have the authority to overrule the governors on this.
Failure of buraucracy requires new bureaucracy?
After the debacle of the FDA/CDC testing due to top-down, one-size-fits-all methods, House Democrats propose top-down, one-size-fits-all regulation of all businesses, thus perfecting ‘doing the same thing and expecting different results.’
I feel much better knowing someone isn’t going to wait for the government.

Kicking Virginians while they’re down
As Virginia climbs back out of the hole this virus has put us in, they’ll have to do it with a growing energy cost burden dragging them down which neighboring states will not have.
