From George Zimmerman to Kyle Rittenhouse: A Decade of Woke Misrule

The writer recounts key details of the Trayvon Martin case and connects the false narrative of George Zimmerman’s guilt to the false narrative of Kyle Rittenhouse’s guilt. I doubt the insight will have much effect.

A strange type of thinking has become commonplace today. It is the habit of reasoning from penumbras. Thus, for example, if Zimmerman and Rittenhouse can be portrayed as being defective in some general way, then the particular actions for which they faced judgement must have been defective, too. Short form: I don’t like the guy; therefore he must be guilty.

It’s a fair question. One can certainly imagine the process: First black markets exploit security weaknesses to become profitable; the profits fund black market security, resulting in military-style control of territory; then, confronted with a choice between open warfare and assimilation, a feckless sovereign (us) grants statehood.

Migration is indistinguishable from war.

The Real Biden Bill: At Least $4.6 Trillion

WSJ’s concluding paragraph deserves emphasis:

Keep in mind that CBO this summer projected that annual deficits will already exceed $1 trillion on average through 2030, causing U.S. debt to swell by $12.8 trillion—and that’s before the infrastructure bill or this House bill. When the spending all kicks in, and the rich are all taxed out, the middle class will be hit with a huge tax increase. This is the most dishonest spending bill in American history.

Marik Sues Sentara Over COVID-19 Treatment Ban

I have a personal coincidence with this story. Just this week I had a Medicare “wellness consultation” with one of the residents at the EVMS clinic I use for primary care. When it came time in the course of the standardized interview for me to ask any questions I might have, I asked whether it might be wise for me to stock up on Ivermectin in case I might need it this winter.
