Joint Trilateral Statement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the People’s Republic of China

This announcement looks important to me. It appears that China is creating a new role for itself on the world stage and in the process diminishing the U.S. role.

How embarrassing for Stumble Joe’s State Department.

  1. You people are ridiculous. IMHO. You don’t want America to be policing the world. Your hero did his best to destroy NATO. And now you cannot contain your glee at a minor announcement that you think makes Biden look bad. It doesn’t. If China can get Iran and Saudi Arabia playing out of the same hymn book, more power to them. That conflict has been a big source of the bloodshed in the area.

      1. Sure.

        Talk is cheap.
Let’s see if China really can end the conflict. And if they do, how is that bad for Biden? It isn’t. In fact, this may be the result of one of his famous phone calls.

      Here’s one assessment:

      “The winners are:

      • Iran, which will now be even more able to break through the sanctions wall the U.S. has put up around it.
      • Saudi Arabia, which now will likely be able to end its disastrous and costly war on Yemen.
      • China, for outplaying the U.S. State Department by achieving this.
      • Iraq, Syria, Yemen as they will become more peaceful as the two middle powers influencing policies on their grounds end their rivalry.

      “The losers are:

      • Israel, because the chances for its attempts to get the U.S. into a war with Iran are now diminished. Its hoped for coalition with the Saudis will not come into being.
      • The U.S. for having been outplayed on its traditional ‘home grounds’ in the Middle East.
      • Anti-Iran hawks everywhere.
      • The Emirates for losing at least some of the sanction busting trade with Iran to Saudi Arabia.”

  2. You spin those winners and losers as somehow bad.

Kushner and Trump were too busy feathering their own nests to achieve peace in the Middle East. If China can do it, hooray for them. Countries with real strength do not worry about others getting credit for good things.

So, on balance, it looks good to me. Personally, I have zero interest in our country being dragged into further Mideast strife by the fascist government of Israel.

And, we would have much better relations with Iran were it not for the sabotage of Obama policy out of petty spite by the previous administration. You cannot put Anti-Iran Hawks down low enough as far as I am concerned. People like Senator Cotton are manifestations of pure evil – sabotaging movements toward peace to score political points with morons.

  3. Nothing like hindsight, but Iran could have been our ally if we didn’t decide that their 50’s government was not good enough for us.

And the Saudi’s lived in tents until we helped extract oil. In return for that favor, we lost 2000+ people in 9/11.

    Nutshell history 102.
