Putin Fights for Jesus!

In Putin’s unhinged rant at the “annexation” ceremony, he gave us some insight as to why he is so popular in MAGA-Republican circles. He know which buttons to push. He is fighting the West not to grab Ukraine but on behalf of Jesus Christ and against Satanism. He is fighting to protect the family and the idea that there are only two genders. Excerpt . . .

“Do we want to have, here, in our country, in Russia, parent number one, number two, number three instead of mom and dad – have they gone made out there? Do we really want perversions that lead to degradation and extinction to be imposed on children in our schools from the primary grades? To be drummed into them that there are various supposed genders besides women and men, and to be offered a sex change operation? Do we want all this for our country and our children? For us, all this is unacceptable, we have a different future, our own future I repeat, the dictatorship of the Western elites is directed against all societies, including the peoples of the Western countries themselves. This is a challenge for everyone. Such a complete denial of man, the overthrow of faith and traditional values, the suppression of freedom acquiring the features of a “reverse religion” [the opposite of what the religion is] – outright Satanism. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ, denouncing the false prophets, says: By their fruits you shall know them. And these poisonous fruits are already obvious to people – not only in our country, in all countries, including many people in the West itself.”

  1. “By their fruits you shall know them.” You can’t say they don’t give cult members fair warning.

Before his nomination, Trump told the story of the tender woman who died when she took in a snake. He smirked and said, “You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.”

  2. Finally, a new “truth”.

Putin is worried about sex and Jesus. I thought is was about de-nazification, saving Russian nationals, ports and Black Sea access. All along it was about transgenders and the son of God.

    Who knew?

Maybe Zelensky can offer not to cut Putin’s nuts off while singing “Praise the Lord and pass the ammo”.

Fighting for Jesus. Yeah, that is what He was all about. Kill as many as you can…in my name, Amen.

That end of the Christian spectrum is worse than Islamic terrorism. At least we know about ISIS, et.al., and they make no bones about murdering infidels.

Invoking the Prince of Peace for human slaughter is an end run around sanctity for profit and power.

Our dear ex just posted on Truth Social a photo of him and Jesus, saying he is in second place (he, not He…yet, at least).

Birds of a feather, folks. What Circle of Hell is reserved for this kind of human sewage?

I recall a phrase from eons ago:

“Fighting for Jesus is like f*#king for chastity”. Might I suggest those folks start with themselves first.

    IMO, naturally.

You have said we are both part of European civilization. Close enough. And with respect to this rant, it sounds like things you have written here in the last week.

        2. RE: “Do you think even 1% of Trump supporters are aware of Putin’s speech, or would take seriously in if they were?”

I notice that the Biden supporters here in the Forum haven’t taken the speech seriously.

          1. What is to take seriously? It is complete nonsense to the point of being deranged. It is the screech of a cornered bully who wails “Why is everybody picking on me?”

He decries European colonialism but seems not to know how the USSR was assembled or even the Russian Federation. He extolls the idea of national self-determination but has forgotten what happened to Chechnya when they tried to exercise some of that. He damns the Western capitalist system ignoring that Russia has adopted the very worse aspects of it. I could go on and on. It is full of lies and hypocrisy.

Most damning of all is his invocation of Jesus Christ. This from a man who has held power through violence and murder and who has directly and personally caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people through his aggressive warmaking.

          2. “The fact that the speech reflects popular Russian sentiments.”

That remains to be seen. But even if it does, so what? A lot of Trump followers believe total nonsense as well. That does not make what he says true. Same holds for Putin.

If Putin is right that this is an existential struggle between the West and Russia, I know what side I am on. Do you?

          3. “We call on the Kyiv regime to immediately end hostilities, end the war that they unleashed back in 2014 and return to the negotiating table.”

Russia invaded Crimea. Russia invaded Donbas. And, of course, Russia invaded the rest of Ukraine in 2022.

And Ukraine unleashed the the war? Why, because they routed the Russians early on? And since they have suffered 50,000 deaths, lost 1000 tanks, it is Ukraine’s fault for having the gall to defend themselves.

And this is Putin’s “finest hour” (37 minutes actually, but who’s counting.)?

  3. Putin is starting to remind me of the ex-husband of a friend of mine. He was running around on her to the point she couldn’t take it any more, so she filed for divorce. When she did, he started doing everything within his power to hurt her and their son. He trashed her at every opportunity, about everything. All she was asking for was child support but he tried to make it sound like she was robbing him of everything he had. She was crying in her lawyer’s office one day when she asked, “Why does he hate me? I’ve never done anything to him except try to be a good wife and mother.” Her lawyer gave her a very wise answer. He said, “It’s because he knows he’s wrong.” She didn’t understand. The lawyer continued, “I’ve seen it a thousand times. In a situation like this, there are only two sides — the good guys and the bad guys. He can’t think of you as the good guy, because if he does, that makes him the bad guy. And he can’t admit that.”

It seems to me, Putin has finally come to suspect he might be the bad guy in this situation. And he can’t admit that.

It’s also possible he realizes he’s looking the Grim Reaper in the eye. And, like with many fox hole epiphanies, he has had a come-to-Jesus moment.

  4. Hey, Mr. Murphy. Stuff it.
You don’t know the first thing about your fellow Americans who support America first. Your written post is exactly why Dr. Tabor has to wonder about whether or not he should end this blog. You certainly aren’t doing your part. Remember, it’s better to be thought a fool…….

    1. With all due respect, who are you and why do you just pop in with insults and cheerleading?

Perhaps a site where everyone thinks just like you would be more inviting. Here we challenge, refute, debate, argue and mostly back up what we say. If you don’t want that consider my suggestion.

I think everyone here loves America, so you might skip that plastic patriotism and come up with some cogent ideas.

Or are you taking your own advice with regards to thought and foolish?

      Thank you.

PS: Ad hominem attacks like “stuff it” are precisely the issues Don brought up. He will correct me if I am wrong.

    2. I will ignore you silly incivility and leave you to Dr. Tabor’s tender mercies.

I am not sure what triggered this outburst. I basically stated what I believe to be a fact – Putin is popular in MAGA-Republican circles. Your other post today sort of confirms that. And listen to Trump’s praise or watch Tucker Carlson any night for further confirmation.

The bulk of the post is words uttered by the man himself. So, what is your problem? Can you even state it?

I agree. Mr. Murphy could have posted a link to Putin’s full speech. Instead, he cherry-picked a segment and used it to attack Trump supporters.

Putin supporters were the topic. If that equates to Trump supporters then things are getting much clearer.

Interesting that you take the post as an attack. You people CLEARLY support Putin’s aggression. Your Dear Leader does as well. What a “genius” move! So, here is a bit of his explanation of the casus belli that explains why he hates America. It just so happens to coincide 100% with one of the principle themes offered by MAGA-Republicans. I found that to be very interesting.

          1. Are you declaring victim status? An opinion you don’t like is now an attack. Some of us have been called communists, unpatriotic, racists, pinkies, Nazis, (neo or non-neo take your pick), etc.

For me, I try to consider the source and move on.

It is hard to separate Putin xenophobia from MAGA equivalents, particularly since some of the right’s standard bearers love him so.

Two people always wanting to play the victim card.

You love Putin. I point out where Putin went out of his way to say things that you people say all the time. How is that an attack?

I posted it because it is interesting to me that MAGA-Republicans and Putin exhibit the same hatred for our country that you express it in your words and he in his. So similar! Remarkable.

The SAME two people? Or is it the same person posting under two different names?

I have speculated on this before, and do so again.

And by the way, DISAGREEING with someone is not an attack. If that were the case YOU would be accused of attacking everyone that disagrees with you.

  5. Putin’s actions are why our Constitution requires the consent of Congress to declare war. And it should be an alarm bell for the broad powers that we have assigned the president because of political expediency and the muscle of the military/industrial complex.

During the era of the Vikings, if a king wanted to wage war he had to get the vote of the peasants. Now peasants in the Nordic countries were actually independent farmers, not his “slaves” and tax source as in so many other countries. So support was critical. And wars during the planting and harvest seasons was out of the question. In addition, the peasants had to have some benefit. What was in it for them to risk their lives?

If he did not sell the campaign for whatever reason, he was often deposed. Sort of a early “vote of confidence” that marks parliamentary governments today.

Nice similarity to our Constitution. War only if the people agree. Which makes sense, since the citizens are the ones who will risk their lives. But Goering put it best when war is dictated.

“Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don’t want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Putin is using a very old, oft repeated, playbook. Bush the Younger did just that when the critics of attacking Iraq had their patriotism challenged.

  6. If nothing else he sure has a good point that there are only two genders but I dont see the correlation with annexing parts of Ukraine. Just because Republicans know this reality does not make us deserving of some weird disdain for not playing fantasy land nicely. As I have said before, if you cut off a boy’s penis it doesnt make him a girl just like if you stick a diamond in a pigs butt but it will never be a wedding ring. 🤣🤣🤣

You need to see the whole speech to get the context. A link is available in another thread.
