This is a curious story. Some speculate that the two pipelines have been sabotaged. If so, then geopolitical or merely industrial motives could be the reason. But why sabotage undersea pipelines that aren’t even in use?

Why would Putin damage the pipeline when all he had to do was shut off the gas to it?
Probably was sabotage, but it is a mistake to assume it was Russia.
