I would love to believe that Ukraine is a victim state, a freedom loving democracy whose sovereignty and sacred honor have been impugned by a war-crazed tyrannical nation. But I can’t.
Were it not for U.S./NATO meddling, Ukraine and Russia could have resolved their differences long ago. And were it not for U.S./NATO support, Ukraine would not now be fighting a grinding battle it cannot win.
I get the impulse of good-hearted people who want to stand up for Ukraine. I even get wanting to call Russia an Evil Empire.
What I don’t get is people who want to stand up for Ukraine until every Ukrainian is dead or raped. And I don’t get being willing to endure the consequences to our own people and to our friends that must occur when we act with hatred toward a peer nation.
Eschew the MSM propaganda. End the war in Ukraine.

What you fail to understand is that your message is for Putin. He started it. He can end it. If he wants to survive, he had better do it soon.
It is a mystery to me why so many self-styled American patriots are so desperate for Putin to succeed in his naked aggression. Do they think it is important to confirm that Trump was right about Putin’s “genius.” Or do they just like fascist dictators? Maybe you can explain?

Sure. There are no American patriots desperate for Putin to succeed. You are seeing things that don’t exist.
The article focuses on Ukraine’s war strategy, and lists five “stark facts that must be acknowledged:”
“1. Ukraine’s air force is inactive. Whatever still exists is not providing close air support to besieged Ukrainian troops or carrying out aerial attacks against Russian positions.
“2. Ukraine’s rotary wing aircraft–i.e., helicopters–also is inactive. Only a few helicopters remain and they rarely venture to the front. They are not hitting Russian truck and tank columns with air launched rockets.
“3. Ukraine’s tank battalions are non-existent in the Donbas and Kherson. Ukraine keeps its tanks dispersed and camouflaged to protect what remains from air and artillery strikes.
“4. Ukraine has shown no ability to reinforce besieged troops and launch a counter attack that pushes the Russians back permanently.
“5. Ukraine has used HIMARS, artillery and saboteurs to hit some key Russian ammo depots, but these, so far, are isolated incidents and have not changed the strategic picture.”
American patriotism is not at issue here. Media reports to the effect that Russia’s military operation is desperate and losing is the issue, because they are wrong.

But, I referred to “self-styled American patriots” who want Putin to win. I will leave it at that.

It was a question. The person you linked to clearly styles himself a “patriot” and yet in every one of his posts that you have shared he is rooting for the fascist thug Putin and pushing his line. Why would that be? And why do the same people offer such uncritical support for Putin do the same for the criminal Trump?
Are these wrap-yourself-in-a-flag and carry-a-cross people just a bunch of fascists? It sure seems like it.
