Inside the frantic, final days of record-keeping that landed Trump in hot water

Chaos run amok is no excuse for material protected by the Presidential Records Act and security classification to end up in a loosely locked basement storeroom of a private club.

  1. I suspected that there was virtually no interest in an orderly transition after absolutely no interest in the centuries old peaceful transfer of power.

And yet the Clinton transition was widely criticized as unruly. It is not “whataboutism” to note that Mr. Rothman’s comment is biased.

          1. The only “unruly” occurrence was stealing of W’s off the keyboards. Nobody absconded with boxes of documents (and certainly not Clinton himself) that were packed in a hurry because the staff wasn’t allowed to start packing until Jan19th.

The only bias on display is yours towards the potential criminal in MAL.

          2. What is biased? The article outlined very clearly that the rush to leave with shortened staff was chaotic.

It is also pretty well established that a peaceful transfer of power was not of interest to Trump. He wanted to stay in power despite the will of the people as expressed in a full, open and fair election that has been analyzed, scrutinized and as such the most transparent in history.

Yes. It also established that GSA and other federal agencies (presumably NARA) had thoroughly briefed WH staff on records retention procedures. It does not establish than any rules were broken.

          4. Briefing and then following the directions from the briefing are two very different things. If the rules were NOT broken, how did the classified material end up in Florida? Did the magic pixies wave their tiny little wands and make them appear?
