            I posted an informative piece about his (possibly) go-to search engine and he thought I was attacking him for some paranoid reason.

            If I didn’t do yoga, he would have ruined my weekend. Now I am just ticked for about 30 seconds. WOOO-SAAAHHH!

          Your apparent support for an illegal, immoral and unprovoked attack on Ukraine is noted with disgust and disdain. You focus on “propaganda” and IGNORE what is happening.

          I think what is happening right now is that the Ukrainian army is largely surrounded and being destroyed and 70% of Russian citizens approve of their president.

      I get the “girly man” reference. It started on SNL and later Scharzenegger used it himself from time to time – something he now regrets and has apologized for. But how is he imitating Jane Fonda? You think calling out Putin for the lying warmongering monster that he is counts as being disloyal to the United States of America?

          2. People respond to personal stories and if you are trying to get a message out, that is what often works better than listing facts.

            Trump’s appeal to many was also very much at the visceral level. And it worked. 1/6 was a success story of just that.

            Now, to your assertion that Arnold doesn’t know the truth. How do you arrive at that conclusion?

          3. Arnold doesn’t know the truth because there is very little reliable information coming out concerning actual conditions on the battlefield. We hear, for example, that Russians are indiscriminately killing civilians, but there are also reports that Ukrainian forces are killing civilians so that Russia gets blamed. Neither I, nor you, nor Arnold knows the truth of such reports.

            There is not one fact offered in this video that is not demonstrably TRUE. The piece was carefully prepared and as part of that process fact checkers reviewed every statement to ensure there was nothing but demonstrably true statements.

            As for “reports” that the Ukraine military is killing civilians so that Russia gets the blame, just how stupid, gullible, and eager to repeat fascist lies are you?

            Here’s a report from this morning which claims Ukrainian forces are bombing Ukrainian civilians:


            On the night of March, 18, the residential areas of Melitopol were attacked by Tochka-U cluster-warhead missiles from a territory controlled by the Kiev nationalist regime.

            The Russian air defence systems have repelled the missile launched against the civilian population of the city.

            The attack had been launched from the northern direction, south-eastern outskirts of Zaporozhie that is fully controlled by the Ukrainian nationalist units.

            The Russian Federation Armed Forces have detected the coordinates of the Ukrainian ballistic missiles.

            In order to prevent missile attacks and to protect the Ukrainian citizens against new attacks of the Kiev nationalist regime, the rocket launchers of the Ukrainian nationalists have been destroyed by two Iskander missiles.

            It should be emphasised that Melitopol is in ordinary conditions. Shops and public transport are in operation. Every day the Russian servicemen deliver humanitarian aid that has repeatedly been told and shown by mass media representatives.

            The subsequent application of ballistic missiles against civilian residents by the Kiev regime whose representatives knew about the absence of Russian Armed Forces firing positions in residential areas of Melitopol proves the criminal nature of the nationalist leadership of Ukraine.

            I said there were reports. I have verified that such reports exist. It is up to you to decide which propaganda you wish to believe: “ours” or “theirs”. My decision is to be skeptical across the board, especially of actors like Arnold who obviously don’t have access to any better information than I do.

            Well, you have answered the question loud and clear.

            The answer is “Very!” On all three.

            There are European and American journalists on the ground in the Ukraine. The information they provide is INFINITELY more reliable than the obvious hooey you call a “report.” Maybe you have not heard, but any Russian telling any kind of truth about the war (or even calling it that) is “scum” and a “traitor” and are subject to severe punishments. Your pretending (or believing) that the sources (Western journalism vs Russian propaganda) are comparable is monumentally dumb. And unpatriotic. Russia under Putin is an ememy of the United States.

            Sympathetic press or not, Zelensky(and his controlling Oligarchs) and Putin have much in common.

            This is not a black hat/white hat conflict. Zelensky does not have full control of Ukraine, and those independently operating strongmen in Ukraine have been killing thousands of people in the Donbas a long time.

            Putin is not a good guy, but neither is Zelensky.

            You are incredibly full of shit. Where do you get this stuff? Zelensky ran for President on anti-corruption platform and in the final vote got 73% of the vote. That is called Democracy and a clear sign that the people of Ukraine invested their hopes for a better future in a non-politician – kind of like many Trump voters who, unfortunately, were duped and conned.

            In trying to figure out how anybody could be so misinformed I keep coming back to Trump’s reign of error. He spread the word that Ukraine is corrupt beyond all measure and his weak-minded acolytes simply take him at his word. Sad.

  3. Putin wants purity (no midges in the mouth), wealth, power, and tax shelters for him and his oligarchs. Plus, utmost, unflagging loyalty to himself.

    We dabbled in this during the last administration.

    It seems that the right wing hatred of all things Democratic and democratic is tacitly connected to the support of Putin’s invasion as justified.
