So out of a zillion hours of Biden speaking, someone has found a few senior moments. And want to use that as an argument against someone who is clinically deranged. Another sad old dog who can not hunt.
Poor little Trump, this line of attack set the stage so that all “Sleepy Joe” had to do to win the debates was stay awake. And, sure enough, the debates put the final nail in Trump’s political coffin. Joe not only stayed awake but also showed that he was in command of himself and in command of the issues.
If you want to vote for someone who is demented be my guest. It doesn’t seem like a smart strategy to me.
For every video of Biden having such a moment, there are a hundred of Trump babbling incoherently. If you are worried about this, choose the lesser of two evils and vote for Biden.
Harris had to confirm that they were in Cleveland with a hot mic before she opened her speech with “hello Cleveland”.
It has always amazed me how candidates go from city to city, flying red eyes, endless speeches and still, for the most part, keeping on message with few, but notable, gaffes.
I am sure we will see and hear more screwups from both sides as the frenzy mounts.
Our election system has gotten so unwieldy as to be ridiculous. We have a national election every four years. Yet campaigning is constant, mind numbing and super expensive. Congressmen have to start fund raising for the next election from the day they take office. Newly elected presidents have about a year or a bit more to get anything done. Out of a four year term.
American exceptionalism: we don’t govern, we campaign.
“Because I don’t understand making excuses for incompetence.”
But, but, but you should. You have to do it all the time.
Presidential campaigns are a test of competence. Trump’s campaign is flailing. As we come down to the wire he does not have a message that makes sense, he has wasted over $1 Billion and is out of money and HE IS LOSING and dragging the GOP down with him. Now, go ahead and make some excuses.
“Are you saying we shouldn’t hold presidential candidates to a “higher standard”?”
Interesting. Every time I suggested that Trump be held to a higher standard, you said he didn’t need to be because he is a citizen just like the rest of us.
Got it! Now Biden needs to be held to a higher standard but Trump can just keep rolling along like a regular citizen.
Sing-a-long time folks : 🎵 H-Y-P (maybe a tape) O-C-R (r us sure there isn’t?) I-S-Y. (because only those who don’t agree with or support Trump HAVE to be held to a higher standard.)🎶

What I have actually said, repeatedly, is that the “higher standard” rule is often an excuse for having no standards at all. In Trump’s case that usually means that constitutional standards don’t apply. For example, by all accounts Trump did his constitutional duty in responding to the pandemic, but he deserves condemnation because — according to some critics — he told lies along the way.
You should be more careful in your accusations. It was Mr. Rothman who raised the “higher standard” rule recently as a means of criticizing Trump. Hence my question in regards to his defense of Biden today.
You should be more careful with the BS you toss out here almost daily.
I never mentioned Constitutional wrt to higher standards and Tr,mp. Nice attempt at deflection for your usual hypocrisy. But like McConnell in trying to ensure Obama would be a one-term POTUS, you have failed. Spectacularly.
“Are you saying we shouldn’t hold presidential candidates to a “higher standard”?”
That statement coming from someone who has to defend or walk back something Trump has babbled every single day is really JUST TOO, TOO RICH. Laugh worthy to umpteenth degree.
I keep saying it, there is a reason the dope was not allowed to speak for 8 years as VP. He escaped a few times, opened his mouth, confirmed his incompetence and embarrassed the entire administration. I actually felt sorry Obama….ok no I didn’t, I was laughing too hard.
The interviewer was George Lopez and Biden was speaking directly to him.
Republicans and Trump have nothing, repeat nothing, to campaign on except to say that Biden is in his seventies and a laptop that came from a stranger.
Some friggin’ platform for conservatives to sell, eh?
Meanwhile, rural states are stacking up bodies like cordwood because of #LIBERATE.
Oh nay, nay. The Republican platform is law and order, 2nd amendment, the constitution, NO to illegal aliens, NO to socialism, responsible energy management, keeping jobs in the US, creating real jobs through competative global taxation and business friendliness, bringing troops home, strong military, NO to GND and the list goes on and on. The Democrat platform is fostering phony racism, phony misogyny and FREE MONEY aka dependency on government.
Apparently he doesn’t. He also believes in the Tooth fairy, the Easter bunny and Santa Clause.
The old, conservative GOP is dead. The stake driven through it’s heart by none other than Donald J. Trump. Those that still support him have been blinded by the snake oil he sold and cannot see the reality of what has happened to the Republican Party as we once knew it.
Too bad, too. Because it was always nice to have a party to negotiate and find compromise with.
Actually, as I recall, Mr. Manafort was more than a little handy with his Russian connections in assisting Trump’s ( & Putin’s) GOP platform change in 2016.
“Throughout the campaign, Trump has been dismissive of calls for supporting the Ukraine government as it fights an ongoing Russian-led intervention. Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, worked as a lobbyist for the Russian-backed former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych for more than a decade.”

I don’t see Trump as evil. I do see Biden as worn out.

I believe the “George” was George Lopez, the interviewer Biden was addressing.

Why do you say that based on endless campaigning rather than effective governance?
We are electing people, not apps for a video game.

Keep digging. Mr. Roberts. Eventually you’ll hit the center of the Earth and then maybe, just maybe, you’ll have it all figured out.

Uh, no. The Republicans did not bother to write a platform this year. You can imagine it to be whatever floats your boat.

“NO to illegal aliens.”
True, Trump resorts did fire the illegals that worked there for decades when they were found out.
Troops? Maybe some, but we have thousands still getting shot at and we added some for the hapless Saudis.
Free money? Just like the Trump family for decades not paying any, or little, taxes and passing on the evasion techniques to the son.
But you know all this.
