Yet another massive Trump Lie.

Trump has presided over the mostly avoidable deaths of more than 200,000 Americans so he needed an even bigger number to throw at Joe Biden in the “debate.” He found one and by golly it seems that Joe Biden presided over the deaths of more than 300,000 vets in the VA hospital system. Wow! Except, of course, it is a complete falsehood. Just one more way Trump dishonors the “losers” and “suckers” who served. Ho Hum.

  1. Not really.

Blaming Biden for 308,000 deaths due to delayed appointments on his watch is every bit a plausible as blaming Trump for 200,000 COVID deaths.

In both cases, there was a limited opportunity for shifting the numbers all that much. If anything, the insistence of the Obama/Biden administration on keeping VA treatments under the government system and not involving the private sector is a far more provable link to those deaths.

Even Saint Fauci claimed Trump was doing all that could be done at the end of March

    1. I guess you either did not read the piece or did not understand what you read.

Those VA deaths stretched back decades. It was NOT the number of people who died from delayed appointments. It was the number from the pool studied who were dead by the time this investigation was done.

      1. So, in both cases the attributed deaths cannot possibly be all blamed on either politician.

And again, you keep pointing to Fauci as the expert, and he said at the end of March that Trump had done all anyone could have done.

        BTW

        1. 211,000 dead, who knows how many injured for life.

#LIBERATE did more damage than Fauci’s early cautions, which in context, he said we should be ready for a change at any time.

Regardless of how much you try to pass the buck on this, it was the entire administration, Fauci included, that made decisions. After 3 years, the president owns the administration.

You blamed Obama for everything, except giving credit for increased gun sales of course, so time for Trump to take the heat.

Only he cannot, will not, and refuses to take responsibility for absolutely anything that he doesn’t make up.

          1. And the point is, that it is ridiculous to assign blame for any significant portion of US deaths to Trump policy.

The nature of our country being what it is, containing a virus once it is in the country is pretty much impossible.

Perhaps if Trump had ordered an air strike on the FDA in February we might have done somewhat better.

You think #LIBERATE was a prudent call? Or mocking mask wearers. Or demanding to hold rallies packed shoulder to shoulder even if local mayors and governors were begging not to?

Our president ignored the virus for the last few months. No mention in the debate either.

I don’t care what the excuses are, a good man would not just friggin’ ignore 100’s of thousands of deaths and injuries.

It was his FDA, his CDC, his administration, his call. You blame the FDA like it belongs to Ukraine.

Baloney. He is responsible for avoidable deaths in six figures and counting. We are not so different from other countries with effective leaders that have suffered far, far less than we have. Trump not only failed to lead us towards responding as science knew we would. He pushed the country in the opposite direction whenever he could.

Since you cannot admit something as basic and obvious as that, it is pointless to discuss it with you.

“Trump said he passed a private-sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.” That’s not true. The Choice program, which allows veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system at taxpayer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama.”
