  1. Thank you, Paul. That was just great. And well done, too.

I am guessing professional actors and singers.

    Is there a link?

    1. There are lots of versions of that song, but I can’t nail the one you posted. I would like to send it to may homebound friends.

          1. Thanks. It worked and this has been forwarded to all my usual suspects.

I don’t think I have ever gotten, or forwarded, so many jokes, videos, etc., with regards to this plague. Humor is better than mope I suppose.

            Ring-a-ring o’ roses
            A pocket full of posies
            We all fall down

“ A rosy rash, they allege, was a symptom of the plague, and posies of herbs were carried as protection and to ward off the smell of the disease. Sneezing or coughing was a final fatal symptom, and “all fall down” was exactly what happened.”

Possible origin during the Black Death.

The Maskmsker song is a similar “whistling past the graveyard” piece. But much better.

          2. Upon further review, the explanation about Ring around the Rosies that I gave has been overturned.

But it was a good myth.
