Russian nuclear submarine armed with ‘doomsday’ weapon disappears from Arctic harbor: report

A few days ago we had the curious story of the Nord Stream sabotage. Now this. I sense a media narrative being constructed.

Notice that Fox News doesn’t source any of the “multiple reports” that claim a Russian submarine is missing. Notice that the threat the missing submarine potentially represents is purely speculative. Finally, notice that the submarine is missing only in the sense that it departed its base without being detected — a non-event considering that “Russian submarines have some of the best stealth capabilities in the world,” according to the story.

In other words, there is no real story in the story. This is why it is interesting to connect the Belgorod incident to the Nord Stream sabotage. No one is claiming that the Belgorod blew up the pipeline, but the story as told suggests that Russia could have done it by other means.

Wasn’t such a truth already well known without the benefit of the story? Of course it was.

Just at the moment, however, there are many pundits who propose that the USA was the Nord Stream saboteur. Consequently, the Fox News non-story story looks like a propaganda counterattack.
