WRT

“Conservatives” have been working hard to spread the word about the threat to our nation of Critical Race Theory (“CRT”) the formerly obscure academic theory based on the evidence that there is systematic and often unconscious bias in our society and institutions that works to the detriment of non-white citizens. And while they have been spreading the word about CRT they have been spreading a theory of their own – White Replacement Theory (“WRT”). The theory that there is a monumental conspiracy afoot to replace white people, organize white genocide, and end European civilization as we know it.

You will find WRT being spread by many “conservative” journals and web sites, but there is one leading media figure with a bully pulpit who has made himself a vocal champion of WRT – Tucker Carlson. Here is a catalog and timeline of his promotion of WRT and related nonsense on his program. . .

This is some dangerous bullshit, and we see many of these absurd ideas and outright lies being repeated in forums like this one all over the country. Harmless rhetoric and hyperbole? Uh, No! Here is the latest tragic outrage directly caused by this racist agitprop that people spread without thinking.

  1. Do conservatives in general, led by Tucker Calrson in particular, have dangerous thoughts that cause mass murder?

I don’t think so; the idea is silly.

It might be worth noting, however, that U.S. government and media support for neo-Nazis in Ukraine might have blowback effects in places like Buffalo, NY.

And yet this psychopath made it clear that he was slaughtering black people to protect the white race from being replaced. You can call it silly, but people who believe the kind of filth that you people spread can easily and understandably become dangerous. Nobody wants to be replaced.

        1. I was not aware of who this fellow was, but I could see he is a Youtuber with the label “New Atlas.” I did a little research. He is an America-hating, Russia-loving conspiracy theory blogger named Brian Berletic. His recent postings are all out of Putin’s Book of Lies including that Ukraine is a Nazi state and that Russia’s war is going great.

In short, he is a nut and his nutty “analysis” of the Buffalo massacre is all you need to see to know just how nutty he is. That you use him to support YOUR nutty claim does you no credit. Who relies on “information” provided by a nut? I mean, seriously. Who does that?

If you want to know what caused this psycho to massacre black people, follow the many links provided to the insanity of WRT that Tucker Carlson has been spreading. THAT is the cause. Not the Ukraine resisting Russian invasion.

If you have a copy of the manifesto, please post a link. I’ll bet Tucker Carlson isn’t mentioned anywhere in it. If not, they you dragging Carlson into your post is arbitrary and part of the same logical fallacy that causes you to accuse conservatives as a group of being proponents of WRT.

In this case, whether or not Carlson is mentioned by name, the LIES he spreads to inflame white racism are what the manifesto is about.

Yes, that’s the fallacy in your post. If you want to prove that WRT causes mass murder, Tucker Carlson is irrelevant. But of course, irrelevancies may seem handy when you can’t prove your conclusion.

I do not need to “prove that WRT causes mass murder.” The murders themselves have done that. There have been numerous racist mass murders committed by people who claimed they acted to protect the white race or to to trigger the longed for race war. This latest outrage in Buffalo is only the latest.

Since it is established that White Replacement Theory motivates believers to mass murder, it becomes highly relevant to identify the sources of such dangerous nonsense. Tucker Carlson is the lying liar with the most “bully pulpit.” His role is disgraceful, if not criminal, and pointing it out is essnetial for countering the poison he is spreading.

Your closed-mindedness is convenient, isn’t it? Since you can’t illuminate the connection between WRT in general and mass murders, you save time and effort by just claiming it is obvious.

    2. “…support for neo-Nazis…”

Putin is the only real racist, supremacist thug in this war. Your constant denigration of Ukraine because there were some White nationalists in one battalion at one time in the recent past is based on conspiracy 101. We have more neo-Nazi assholes in our country and your party is nurturing them like they were Jesus’ disciples.

I get that Republicans caught up in the cult of Trump believe they are superior patriots, elitists if you will.

But that false position is no better than any old or new Nazis had over the last century. “Jews will not replace us” by the “fine people” is just an extension of that thinking, such as it is.

Aligning oneself with WRT is stripping any credibility from the right wing today.

      IMO.

      1. Surely it is worthwhile to resist the spread of Nazi ideology. Is it so important to smear conservatives and Tucker Carlson that one must deny the history and significance of Nazi ideology in Ukraine?

        1. Carlson is a cheap, lying, fear monger. He has admitted to lying as a matter of course. FOX also has said no one expects him to tell the truth.

So let’s just say he smears himself, with no help needed.

If conservatives agree that Nazis run Ukraine, then in my estimation they deserve just as much respect as Carlson. That is less than zero.

Our own history with arguably many more neo-Nazis in the country, including their fearless leader in Mar a Lago who told them to “stand by” for him, we should be proud of Ukrainians for keeping a lid on such human waste.

I think that explains my take.

Uh, did you not understand the links that Len provided. When Fox News was sued for slander because of outrageous lies that Carlson spread on the air, their defense IN COURT and UNDER OATH was that no person in their right mind would believe things he says because he is merely an entertainer who “is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in ‘exaggeration’ and ‘non-literal commentary.’ ”

In short, Len politely responded to your uncivil accusations of dishonesty with chapter and verse. But not good enough? Maybe you better go back to just calling people names? You do not seem to be ready for adult conversation.

No one need deny the history and significance of Nazi ideology in Ukraine. But you do not get to exaggerate it by orders of magnitude without being called on it. Just how much Nazi ideology do you think there is in Ukraine? You think Zelensky is a Nazi? Is being Ukrainian patriot make you a Nazi? Putin calls Ukraine a “Nazi state.” That is patently absurd.

You may not know this since you know so little history (didn’t even know that Russia invaded Finland in 1939), but many Ukrainians sided with Hitler in WWII not because they were Nazis but because millions of them had been killed by Stalin in the 1930’s, Ukrainians were second class citizens of Stalin’s USSR, and they wanted to be a sovereign nation again. It is one of the reasons that Ukrainian anti-Russian patriotism has been so fierce against THIS Russian atrocity. Blood feuds span generations. THAT is history and it is significant.

There is enough that the CIA began exploiting neo-Nazi groups in Ukraine to influence political events in the 1940s and was able to use them to cause the Maidan coup in 2014 and to prosecute the civil war against the breakaway republics for the next eight years.

RE: “You think Zelensky is a Nazi?”

I think Zelensky is a CIA/State Department stooge.

RE: “Is being Ukrainian patriot make you a Nazi?”

Of course not. Neither does being a Ukrainian Nazi make you a patriot.

That’s the history, all right. It is no excuse for neo-Nazis in Ukraine today. It is even less of an excuse for having Ukrainian neo-Nazis on the U.S. payroll as we prosecute this war.

For the record, this war was 100% the work of V. Putin, not Joe Biden and not the CIA. “De-nazification” of Ukraine is a PRETEXT for the war. Not the reason. The “Maidan Revolution” was a Constitutional crisis triggered by Russian pressure on the President to ignore the decisions of Parliament with respect to European trade.

As far as historical nazism in Ukraine, no one is saying it didn’t happen. But just like there are neo-Nazi’s her, in Germany, and in many other Western countries, that does not change the fact that the history has been overcome by current leaders. If you can honestly say that Ukraine is a Nazi country, then you better damned sure be ready to same the same thing about this one.

And supporting the country of Ukraine, including those that are actually fighting to protect their country from a Hitler-wannabe, is noble. You take one small command in the Ukrainian army and then claim the entire country is Nazified. That is a lie. I think you are just too enraptured with Putin to see it.

            Liked by 1 person

          5. Uh, you have posted the opinions of crackpots and Russian stooges. They cannot change the facts. This is a war of choice. It was a choice made 100% by Vladimir Putin. Russia was not threatened. Russia was not attacked. Russia has been the aggressor around its borders. Not NATO.

Here is something else you people just cannot accept. The “genius” invasion was a strategic blunder and a tactical failure of historic proportions. NATO has not been this unified since the collapse of the USSR. Germany is rearming. Finland and Sweden are applying for NATO membership. The Russian economy may never recover. And, on the ground, the much-feared Russian military has shown itself to be corrupt, incompetent, and ineffective. Approximately 1/3 of the troops committed to the folly are now dead, wounded, MIA or captured. ONE THIRD. Modern countries will not accept failure of such proportions which is why Putin has been covering up the scale of the disaster and criminalizing truthful reporting about the war.

At least as far as Mexicans and most other South and Central American immigrants are concerned, they are hard working people and should be welcomed.

His comments about Europe refer to Muslim immigrants, who do not assimilate and who do displace local populations.
