The Guardian looks at the state of the GOP. Here, from the article, is the key take-away:
“I have long said that January 6 was merely a dress rehearsal for how Republicans intend to try to hijack free and fair democratic elections in this country going forward,” added [Kurt] Bardella, a former Republican congressional aide.
“They know that when the playing field is level and everybody can participate in the democratic process, they cannot win, so the only recourse that they believe that they can obtain power is by throwing out democratic norms and overthrowing elections, even if that means using instruments of violence, fear and terror to do so.”

That’s rich. January 6 was a dress rehearsal for aging beer drinkers and their doughty wives to storm the Capitol every four years armed with sticks and spittle to overthrow the government of the world’s preeminent nuclear power.
That’s not a real danger. Such pretense is, however, a danger to good sense.

Have to agree with JTR here.
The dress rehearsal was 2000.

And I’m really not trying to be snarky here. They have the SC and will for a generation. I don’t know of anyone who thinks the Democrats are structurally capable of 60 Senate seats anytime soon either.
The Republicans have won. They’ve out-maneuvered and out-willed the Democrats and I don’t think anything short of massive strike waves can derail this train. As defeated as labor is in this country, I’m not holding my breath.

The only danger I see here is falling backwards while laughing at this liberal tripe and bonking my head on the floor. Of course a few aspirin and a glass or 2 of Merlot will mend the damage done. Too bad that won’t work for the extreme hate and fear you have of the party of the adults in the room. That’s not to be unexpected from liberal juveniles though….
