Conspiracy theories have found a friend in the administration.

We are really falling into line with classic autocratic playbooks. Conspiracies, private gangs, declaring “enemies of the state”, military crackdowns, keeping Americans in the dark or guessing, propaganda through state approved/owned media. Yay, “laissez le bon temps roller”.

    1. You have a point. I don’t think I said that all those events and issues are planned by a secret cabal.

Yet, there is little dispute that they are all happening today. And they do match up well with Third World autocracies.

My concern is not that someone is pulling the strings, but rather that we are doing this to ourselves.

  1. I don’t get the point of the AP piece.

Is the Vice President not supposed to attend a fund raiser because the host has an interest in Qanon? Is America supposed to divide into pro-Q/anti-Q tribes? Should people vote for Biden/Harris because Trump supposedly is pro-Q?

Are we supposed to quake in fear of tyranny because of an anonymous boogeyman who lives on the dark web?

  2. In my opinion, Q-Anon is creating havoc with reality and is an extension of blood libel anti-Semetism.

Yet, like video games, it is part of the internet.

But when it goes mainstream through our elected government I think we need to be aware.

We are already under an administration that started its term with the concept of “alternative facts”, a presidential agenda to confuse Americans and declaration of “enemies of the people” for those who questioned or criticized the regime.

It is probably too much to ask for some modicum of truth from the regime. Unfortunately as we just learned from the president’s own voice, he lied about the biggest threat to our nation in recent history. And we were fed conspiracies that the seriousness of COVID was a hoax.

    IMHO

On what do you base that opinion?

      1. The conspiracy that there is an international cabal of wealthy bankers like Soros involved in child sex trafficking is ancient stuff, but still excites some folks. “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, a Russian anti-Semitic propaganda book a century old, pops up regularly as “proof”.

Why the Jews? They have been the scapegoats since the crucifixion, yet without that event, there would be no Christianity. But the Jews are always to blame for something.

That is why I called Q “scum” the other day. There has been an uptick in attacks on Jews and synagogues for several years now. I have no patience or much tolerance for that line of thinking.

I see. I’ve read every Q message ever posted (4644 to date) and I’ve never seen a reference to the Protocols or any anti-Semitic remark. If you’d like to base your opinion on reality, here’s a searchable archive of all the Q messages:

          qanon.pub

The archive is on the regular “clear” web. Messages appear in reverse chronological order.

          1. I stand corrected. But, and there is always a but, the references to a global cabal and the “protocols” are, to me, one and the same. I believe the protocols are referred to in articles about the Q.

But you are obviously a follower if you’ve followed all 5K posts.

            So I will defer.

Do you believe that there is an international group that traffics in children and worships Satan, that, most importantly, Trump was going to hook up with Mueller and destroy them. Epstein come to mind, but then he was a friend of Trump who did not object to his women being on the “younger side”.

Do you think Trump was doing undercover in the days he was partying with
            Epstein and his entourage?

          2. RE: “Perhaps you can teach us about Q. What are the points that people believe?”

I can’t help you. Q operates mostly by asking questions. The answers exist only in the minds of Q readers. And by some estimates there are as many as 30-40 million readers per day. So, given the impossibility of mind reading (to know the answers readers come up with) and on top of that the challenge of summarizing the thoughts of an audience that is larger than that of all cable news networks combined, anyone who claims to know what Q followers believe must be lying to you. I wouldn’t do that.

I have helped you almost as much as I can by giving you the link to the Q messages themselves (qanon.pub).
