A Day of Peaceful Protests

No rioting.  No looting.  No cops.  Causality?  Well, correlated.

  1. Or all the good merchandise is already gone.

You have to keep in mind that there are at least two things going on here.

A legitimate, if somewhat overwrought, protest over brutal mistreatment of a suspect in custody that resulted in death, and an opportunistic/nihilistic descent into barbarism shielded by that legitimate protest.

In addition, there were also efforts by lunatics on the left and right to trigger a race/cultural war.

So, it’s really a lot more complicated than correlation can explain.

    1. So far it seems mostly “lunatics on the right”, as per Boogaloos are being arrested. Not much Antifa action at all.

The administration keeps mentioning Antifa and ignoring the supremacists side. Yet few if any Antifa have been charged.

      1. Or it could be that Antifa is just getting better at not getting caught, with hit-and-run tactics while the Boogaloos stand there stupidly and defy the police.

      2. It’s all about messaging. ANTIFA is the Trump campaign battle cry while eagerly ignoring the fringe far right groups that are involved.

Can’t piss off the base, ya know.

        1. The far right groups are his base…oh, I get it. That was your point.

“We are determined to take our country back,” Duke said from the rally, calling it a “turning point.” “We are going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That’s what we believed in. That’s why we voted for Donald Trump, because he said he’s going to take our country back.” D. Duke praising D. Trump
