ZH: Schiff Folds: Publishes Russiagate Transcripts After Showdown With DNI

ZH helpfully provides a link list of the transcripts Adam Schiff produced. On TV tonight Fox is reporting that acting DNI Rick Grennel intends to release additional declassified materials related to “RussiaGate.”

Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

  1. “These transcripts should have been released long before now, but the White House held up their release to the public by refusing to allow the Intelligence Community to make redactions on the basis of classified information, rather than White House political interests,” Schiff said in a statement Thursday. “Only now, and during a deadly pandemic, has the President released his hold on this damning information and evidence.”

    Schiff folds?

I get the impression the administration has been sitting on these for years playing games with redactions, deletions and other BS.

I am not sure about ZeroHedge’s point other than it wants to make it look like Schiff is the bad guy.

But then, what do I know?

    1. I get the exact opposite impression. Schiff is a far left blowhard that takes considerable effort in only releasing what he wants and not the complete picture so he can make a phony Schitt “parody”. The transcripts have been reviewed and not one witness provided evidence of any “collusion” in line with Meuller not finding any. He doesn’t want all of the transcripts released which is what the intel committee voted on in late 2018 and is what the GOP has been fighting for.

      1. If the intel committee voted unanimously to release them in 2018, why didn’t the administration release them?

        Who was stopping it?

        1. Good question.

The Intelligence Committee (quasi-oxymoron) cannot release everything they want.

Transcripts have an overall classification based upon the content which ranges from UNCLASSIFIED, to SECRET.

In my experience? Transcripts tend to be split up…CONFIDENTIAL and below…anything SECRET or higher is redacted and a reference to that information is inserted. To declassify that information is at the discretion of the originating department (or a a division of that department).

    2. So, you take Schiff’s desperate spin as the truth?

What Schiff wanted was to selectively release some of the transcripts while keeping those that hurt him buried. He didn’t get away with it but he’ll try to spin his way out of the con job he played on the nation.

      1. You believe the administration. I don’t.

It’s record of telling Americans the truth is not very good. (Understatement warning)

I thought the intelligence committee had voted unanimously to release them all in 2018. I guess not according to you.

        1. Yes, the committee did vote to release them all, after redaction by the intelligence services. That was completed and Schiff then announced he would release 43 of the transcripts and withhold the remainder.

The DNI threatened to release them all himself and Schiff reluctantly released them all.

          1. “ The release of the documents caps off months of fighting between House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and the Trump administration over whether the White House could review the transcripts before they could be released publicly. The Director of National Intelligence’s office had been examining the transcripts for classified information. They were released after Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell notified Congress this week that its review was complete. The White House did not end up reviewing the transcripts, Schiff said. ”

Sounds like a “he said she said” story

Jordan was saying “we understand” Schiff was no releasing the documents. Well, Jordan is a shill for Trump so what he says hold little credence in my book.

The White House had been sitting on the transcripts.

        “Schiff’s desperate spin”

Right out of the Gas Lighter’s playbook. Accuse the opponent of what you are doing. Trump has slow-walked the release of these transcripts, so let’s blame Liddle Adam Schiff.
