In case you missed it.

The other day the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal published a scathing critique Trump’s daily “press briefings.” The essence of it was that he is eroding his own credibility with all the nonsense and that he should step back and let someone like Pence or Fauci run the briefings.

How did Bozo the President respond? Here is his tweet . . .

“The Wall Street Journal always “forgets” to mention that the ratings for the White House Press Briefings are “through the roof” (Monday Night Football, Bachelor Finale, according to @nytimes) & is only way for me to escape the Fake News & get my views across. WSJ is Fake News!”

Two salient points. This idiot measures success by TV ratings. OMG, better ratings than the Bachelor Finale. The Republic is saved!

And, secondly, it is clear that “fake news” simply means critical of Trump. It would be hard to find a major publication that has been more friendly to him than the Wall Street Journal, but there is that charge . . . “WSJ is Fake News!”

  1. We are in the middle of a deadly pandemic, the economy is tanking, people are dying, mass graves are on the news and Trump is worried about his ratings on TV.

And he says it is the only way to get his message out without “fake news”, and yet when he is quoted we have to rely on fact checkers.

  2. I have been watching those ‘briefings’ since I’m usually in the kitchen cooking during that time. I cannot believe some of the things that blow through this guy’s lips. Everything you wrote is true. I wonder where his side-kick, Giulian, is these days. Probably getting the country in some new s^%$-storm.
