I’m not a fan of the headline given to this story (ZH merely repeats it from the original), but I find the doctor’s questions and discussion intriguing.
My theory since the beginning has been that our political system response to coronavirus has been overblown. That is not a popular theory, and there’s not much in the way of science or reason to substantiate it at present. As a result, it would be irresponsible to assert such a claim, so I’ve been guarding my skepticism as the fact picture emerges.
Soon, however, we may be hearing calls to relax social distancing by going back to work and returning the kids to school. In that context, seemingly dissident perspectives, like the German doctor’s, can help broaden our thinking beyond the ruts we create for ourselves.
