Our Nukes are now Erdogan’s hostages

Was this part of the “careful deliberation” by Trump?

The border along Syria and Turkey is now officially a freakin’ mess. Trump threatens to destroy Turkey’s economy. And now we learn that our Nukes, 50 bombs no less, are in Erdogan’s safe keeping.

I think this withdrawal could have been handled a lot better. Instead of such an impetuous last second command when all this chaos was predicted months ago.

I know. The Kurds didn’t do much for us in WW2. ISIS is still 7000 miles away. Trump has two big towers in Istanbul. Putin needs his Med port. Assad is a bud with Iran. These are all valid reasons for the regime.

Still, it could have been done a lot better. IMHO

But I’m not President.

Your own source refutes this: “there have been no daily operations changes at the base.”

Is it really necessary to go hysterical?

    1. Considering the source of the article, I wouldn’t consider the idea of being hysterical. However, we are talking about an autocratic regime that is currently conducting genocide against another people under the guise of fighting terrorism. If Erdogan decides that the attempt to “destroy the economy” is a viable threat, what is keeping him from taking over Incrilik air field and the associated weaponry on site?

      Stable genius, indeed.

Any number of things might keep him from doing such a foolhardy thing: treaties with the U.S, membership in NATO, military defenses at the base, the risk of all out war with a superior force, to name a few.

      1. I admire your optimism. I prefer to be a little more realistic. It is a distinct possibility that Erdogan could do those things regardless of the potential outcomes. As far as being in NATO, there is a term I often hear about those who are conservatives, but not Trumpists in today’s world: RINO. That would make Turkey NINO. And I have heard several foreign policy experts refer to them in that manner in the past few days.
