Why add in clothing and healthcare? Would have sounded better if it was just food.
Be fair. If you add in all of the necessities, e.g., housing, all insurances (car, life, home), cost of communication (cell, IP, TV), maintenance (home[heat, AC], car [gas, oil, etc]), water, sewer, Starbucks,… and then what will you get?
Average income was $64K, so way less than 1/3, more than 1/4, and as Mitt Romney explained YEARS ago, 47% pay NO federal income taxes.

To be fair, John did say averages can be deceiving.
If I made a million last year, my taxes would far exceed my living expenses. Certainly the food, clothing and healthcare.
Assuming of course I was not a tax cheat or had clothing tastes like LaPierre but couldn’t get a non-profit to spring for it.
